hmmmm lol they do them for 100 on another add.... 2000watts for 100 quid dont sound to bad, i just want mega bass lol

Buy it all second hand. I got a 12" pioneer sub in a box for £25. And an alpine 700w amp for £40 and made my own wiring for it so all in all about £65ish.

hmm true

thinking of the vibe CBR12 aswell

2000watts for 100 quid dont sound to bad

Lol, thats just peak power dude, A £100 Fli couldnt even dream of 2kw.

I picked up a package yesterday, after a bit of bartering, for £140.

Hifonics 12" subwoofer, 400wrms, Stealth 2 channel amp, 2 x 200wrms, Carperted MDF box and a Fusion wiring kit.

That was from Bass Junkies, an in-store deal, but there are a few decent packages on the website, worth a look

what RMS should i be looking at for good bass?

^^ Alot lol. Well, obviously the more the better, but for a budget of just over £100, 400wrms-ish should be good, it also depends on the quality of the sub and the amp powering it.

theres a JL audio 10" 10w3 v2 with an RMS of 300 and amp for sale on E38 with enclosure for 140...seems alot for not much RMS but aparently the quality makes up for it or should i go for something with like 500RMS but made by mutant for the sameish price although mutant are aprently shite

Yeah from alot of personnal experience, by selling and of friends buying, Mutant are cack.

To be fair that sounds a good deal, 300wrms wont blow your windows out but JL is quality stuff, that will certainly sound better than of the budget deals around.

just picked up a 12" sony xplod 1200w sub in a box, 1000w amp, some 6x9's already mounted in a box which I'm not even gonna think about using as i hate 6x9's lol and all the wiring to connect it all up all second hand all for 60 pounds, so i am quite chuffed with that

Dont bother with Fli, in my shop we get a lot come back faulty, either the amps pack up or the voice coils in the sub fall apart, iv got a small vibe 10" active box in my car, got it 80 quid second hand and its excellent! Vibe is pretty awesome and their pre amped boxes are pretty bullet proof.

I'm looking at a couple of Vibe CBR 10s, how do you rate them if its the one in your car?

alot of bass?

I'm pretty happy with it, iv got the amped box so i think its good fr 300-400w rms and to be honest i dont use it half as much as i could cos all my speakers are standard! Excellent bass and it doesnt take up much room, obv yours would be a twin so it might take up a bit of room  Tbh cant rate vibe stuff enough I've had their speakers in the past and they were amazing even before amping them! Something that never gets returned either so cant be a bad thing!

A friend of mine has two vibe 12" subs running off their monoblock 3 or 4 i dont remember and thats rediculous :!:

Mutant are cack.

Never seen a truer statement! Sound isnt too bad tbh but they dont last very long! Another item that comes back faulty!

hmm thinking about getting one of those then as i do use my boot alot, if i can haggle the seller down to 100 i think il snap it up!

Good price! Retail is like 200 quid, seen it for like 150 on net, so yeah go for it!

Cant go wrong with Vibe.

Same here, the car shop i used to work in sold those £99.99 Mutant packages, the amount of amps returned as faulty was unreal.

just bagged a Vibe CBR12 for 120 delivered, 500wRMS 1500wpeak

You're gonna be happy with that, remember to fit a decent wiring kit tho! At least 8 gauge imo!

jbl gt4 with suitable jbl amp around 300 rms @ 4 ohm

build a nice ported enclosure you could get a design off talkaudio ;)

should come in less than or close to £100 and will beat any other equipment you can buy new ;)

How do you rate the Hifonics stuff in terms of budget equipment dude?

They guy in Bass Junkies that was working the demo van at Inters, was kinda over selling it, but they are sponsored so i guess he has to.

He was talking about him competing and stuff too, and was on about your car lol.

I got mine all from car audio direct i think.

1200w 12" pioneer sub + MDF box

1000w 2ch American Legend Amp

fli wiring kit

for about £130 i think it was one of their package deals and IMO its a really good piece of kit.

Hifonics is a good make but unsure of how it rates in the budget range, but i'd listen to mbh69 lol as he knows what he's talking about

got a fly 12" ported with built in amp jobbie i removed from my 6n2 gti sounded sweet, i only took it out as i'm now running stripped rear. up for £50 if anyone's interested??

yeah martin looks after the hifonics van it's al lovely install and drops very well but you have to remember how much time and effort goes into designing and building a demo vehicle

it all comes down to budget really there ok subs but personally i'd go for another make like spl dynamics, dc audio, Fi, atomic, jbl all depends what you want from it as well

but the jbl kit is cheap and cheefull and a pair of the gt4 12's can break 140 db in the correct enclosure off decent power ;)
