Legal Cover

Featured Replies

Guys, i just had a small accident and insurance are saying would u like to go through us and pay the excess or use your legal cover and pay nothing.

i thought legal cover was just to sort out if there are any arguments etc and that u had to pay your excess anyway!

teh lady didnt really say which was better for my incident, and didnt say much to me to give me a good idea for me to make my own judgement.

can someone shed some light in stupid language??

much appreciated!

thanks

I would ask the insurance company....

I wouldn't take advice from this forum on such an important matter dude :)

i tried i kept asking but i dont think she knew or she wasnt allowed to say?

her answer was so mish mash after asking about 5 times!!

by the way..........i hate FOOKING lorries!!!

If the accident was your fault I'd say bite the bullet and pay the excess, if not then obviously use the legal cover to get the other party to use their insurance.

Thats my understanding of how it works anyway. Could you not try asking citizens advise?

^^Yeah,id go with that. I dont know the answer,I've never claimed. But i dont think she was allowed to answer, may have been trying to tell you something though.

'DAN@ADRIAN FLUX' is a forum member on here. Maybe he may be able to tell you

unfortunately, there is no easy way of explaining it! I have to get my solicitor to put everything into plain english for me so i know what shes on about! Legal cover i think covers bills for solicitors and such. All i know for sure is that it comes in bloody handy!

it sounds like they are asking if you want to accept responsibility for the accident and make a claim on your insurance, or take it to court (which will use the legal cover to pay for) and fight against their insurance company to make it their responsibility.

Your insurance company should tell you whether they think you have a case or not or you could get some 3rd party legal advise.

wasnt my fault, i was behind lorry on raod, and suddenly stopped for a while then he started reversing, no hazard lights or anything and i immeditely put it into reverse and started accelerating back but he built up pace and hit me.

i questioned the driver why he did not put hazard lights on and he said i shouldnt have been behind him! and didnt even argue he had them on.

and when my insurance co called the lorry compnay, they said they he had, so i gone to legal now, not sure what will happen

even if he did put his hazards on, still shouldnt of just reversed back onto you. Careless driving by the trucker imo.
