clock resests and all needles flicker when ignition is turned on

when i turn the car on the needles flicker then the clock resets itself. When turning the car off the needles remain at the same position as when the car is on, so revs at idle speed, petrol and temp at their current levels. Anyone know what this could be?

fuse has gone!

either that or youve got a problem with your constant live/igniton feeds ...

check state of battery. My other halfs mk4 had a similar problem where the clocks would make a racket for 2/3 seconds after ignition is turned on. Changed the battery over as it was original and problem went away.
