Well its time for me to sell the polo and move onto something a bit bigger. I've enjoyed every moment of owning this car and for the past year and a half spent sooo much time and money on it. The car itself is pretty good, the bodyworks not the best but it still seems to get plenty of attention at shows! Its a 1999 car on an S plate, has covered 63k and has FSH. I've looked after this car too well really and seem to have changed every expendable component during my ownership.

It will come with 9 months MOT and 3 months TAX.

Engine.

16v AFH,

63k,

FSH,

cambelt swap at 35k,

oil + filter change every 5k,

recent rocker cover gasket renewal,

gearbox + clutch swapped @ 44k,

recent full coolant change,

BMC cda filter,

backbox and centre section of the exhaust replaced at 43k,

always warmed up and generally taken care of.

Brakes + Suspension

Evo Coilovers, regularily greased and still fully easily adjustable!

Brembo max discs and ebc green stuff pads,

just had a full brake fluid flush with new lines up front,

full rear drum set up overhauled recently which included drums, shoes and bearings,

rear camber shims giving -3 degrees camber

Bodywork

Good points.

Smooth front bumper, professionally done with plastic weld and fibreglass.

Black roof.

Badgeless grille.

16v euro spec rear lights.

Mk5 stubby euro spec mirrors.

Mk4 golf genuine crystal side repeators.

Side strips removed.

Colour coded door handles.

Bad Points.

Unfortunately its not 100% clean and has a rusty sill and some rust on the drivers door (just surface rust). Needs the bonnet and grille surround painting. Also has some laquer peel (rear 3/4 and around drivers door handle.)

Interior

Standard 16v trim which is pretty damn clean apart from one fag burn in the drivers seat bolster :(.

Mk4 golf gearknob.

Audi TT pedals.

Mk5 polo doorpins.

Raid HP 280mm steering wheel.

Will also leave in my amp wiring as its nicely tucked away and probably more hassle than its worth to remove!

Wheels

Currently rolling on renault turbines with decent 195/50 rubber (conti's and yoko's) although can include g60 steels depending on price.

So yeh thats about all the things i can think of tbh and i think its a pretty fair description. Heres some pics anyway of what it looked likeduring my ownership!

asking £2000 which i think is very reasonable as its low milage and very well looked after and you've got all the ingredients of a top car just needs finishing off!

I'm very interested and have to cash waiting, my only problem is is that I'm up in leeds, what do you suggest

  • Author

theres not alot i can suggest apart from coming to have a look! not insured on it anymore so theres no way of me meeting you half way, you could always fly down to southampton airport and me pick you up from there? i just picked my new car up from up by you and it took me about 3 and a half hours to get home so its not massively awful!

swap for a mk3 golf gti?
