Just checking powerflex and they list arb bushes, front and rear wishbone bushes and also a rear mount bush.

What ones can you change withough needing tracking afterwards and also are all these a home diy job or are they likely to be an absolute pain in the ass.

PS trying to cure the bumps and squeaks.

the front track control arm bushes can be changed quite easily by making up a makeshift puller from washers and spacers to pull it out

the new ones just push in with your fingers like so....

the rear track control arm bush needs a special tool to remove and refit.. dont bother with the powerflex ones, get the oe ibiza cupra R ones for £8 each, they are solid bushes unlike the standard 9n bush

changing the arb bushes is much easier when you are replacing the whole arb, but that means dropping the subframe off

although if you just want to replace the bushes there should just be enough room to do it in situ, but you will need to put a jack under the hub and raise it slightly otherwise the driveshaft will be in the way

Cheers for that mate, so you have to drop the subframe to change the arb...Gees thats crazy if the bushes looked whacked I'll prob try and do it in situ didn't really want to drop the frame unless its an easy job. What arb you got on there is it painted red or an uprated one.

Also can you get cupra bushes for all the bits or just for the track control arm bush. Ain't got a seat dealer all that close.

I need to get this knocking and squeaking sorted.

Will I need the tracking done after changing these.

my arb is an eibach 22mm one, but you can fit a 21mm fabia vrs arb

if you are just changing the bushes you should be able to do it without dropping the subframe..

re: cupra bushes... they are all the same as the standard ones except the rear track control arm bushes

Cheers mate I'll look for my seat main stealer and also check if the bushes look knacked then I can work out when I'm gonna change them.

I'm guessin its cupra R bushes I want and not just cupra ones.

the part number is 6LL407183 and they are £6.62 each + vat

it might be worth getting them to fit them to the console because they will have the proper tool to fit them, besides, the console is removeable, but make sure you support the subframe with a jack if you take them both off at the same time otherwise it's just the clamp bolt on the steering linkage supporting the whole weight of the subfame and steering rack

Cheers matey yeah console ones look a bit of a bitch wander what the garage charge for these. Have got a good independent specialist I take my car to might be worth seeing if hed get me the cupra bushes.
