How does it affect your MOT? My handbrake is really high but works how will this affect the MOT outcome?

only had experience with mk3's.

but i presume that all cars should be fairly similar. there should be a little nut near the pivot joint of the handbrake.

tighten that, you may need to hold the cable before trying to tighten it!

be careful as the extra strain on an old cable could snap it!

if it feels abit stiff or sticks, you cable could be warn!

whenever i ring my dad all he says is whats wrong? you ran out of money? or is the car broken? its usaually both

your handbrake could be a big job, if it needs tightening from the handbrake then its no problem, just tightening the screw, but if its something to do with the handbrake cable thats wen its not good...

i ended up payin £110 to get my handbrake working, the handbrake was so high it was a joke but it still worked.. lol, i think it went up to like 10 clicks lol

got charged £90 for labour rest for parts lololol, if u no how to do it you are self, good job.

small screw tighten, OR jam it in reverse and slam brakes on...will tighten sumat up lol

jack the car up at the rear and check that both wheels are locked when the handbrakes on... handbrake must be 16% efficient to pass a roller test..

hehe my handbrake was going pretty much vertical when i took it for mot it went to the full amount of clicks possible and i passed he just give me a advisory about it

oh yeah p.s. my party trick in the car was to go check this out folks and pull the handbrake up and the car not even judder i should also note this came back to bite me in the arse when i nearly drove off a cliff and had the front wheels hanging off the edge thank god i got it in reverse and got out so fast i left craters from my wheelspin not nice in a situation like that with passengers screaming their bollocks off
