30th birthday pressie from the missus, got to spend the day driving these little beauties up and down an old airfield, with instructor sat in passenger seat trying his best to not be ignored....

56k beware, btw.

All cars were,

Ferrari 355 Berlinetta (Race spec with full cage!)

Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Lambourghini Gallardo

Ferrari 360 Spider

Mitsubishi Evo 8

Subaru Impreza WRX

Lotus Elise

Ford Focus ST2

Peugout 106 Rallye (on the skid pan)

Ford Maverick (4x4 off-roading).

Was fooking ace, as you would imagine.

355 by a mile, it had over 400bhp, no computer, no traction control, no ABS, and it started pissing down just before it was my go.

Twitchy as fook, but niiiiiice on the track.

Mmmm, 355 has to be my fav Ferrari. Just something about it, whenever someone says Ferrari I just get the image of a red 355 in my head.

Lucky boy indeed!

It made it even better when the instructors instisted I drive it like I stole it.

"GET TO THE REDLINE, INTO 3RD, INTO 4TH, BRAKE HARD, THROW IT DOWN THE GEARS, BURY THE PEDAL, GO GO GO, GET PAST THAT DB8"

Like I needed encouragement.

sounds like an everyday outing in the polo for me lol :)

THAT looks amazing, off to drop some hints to the girlfriend

still think the 355 is the best or one of the best sounding Ferrari's...

hpow long did the day last at the track in the cars, cuz i was thnking about doing sumthing like this.

but some of them say it only lasts like afew hours so i would be pissed wit that!

You do spend quite a lot of time waiting for your turn, and time is limited with the cars, but I was there for 7 hours.

Personally, next time I would like to spend more time driving, and on a proper track like Oulton Park or something like that, but they are only a couple of hours usually.

Was nice to drive or get driven in loads of different cars in one day, though.

It was last of the old school Ferrari's I think, it got very F1/tech orientated with the 360 and the F430. Saw a 355 on Friday going through town...was lush...so small, so nice...and that high revving V8 still makes a big rumble at idle which is cool. It was the right red as well. Saw a blue one today leaving home, convertible though...still cool!
