You's probably wont beleive this, but I was with my dad when he got caught doing 99.7mph on the A1 and the police officer let him off because we where in a Volvo T5R at the time and the police guy was in a T5, so they got chatting about cars and didnt get done.

When i was young and stupid, one night I got away with sitting on the door of my old dears micra @ 50mph through a 30mph speed camera sticking a proud two up at it (number plate had fallen off). Only problem was there was a police unit coming round the corner in the other direction who saw the camera flash and me climbing back in the car, opps!! Stuck their blues and two on and swung around pretty sharpish, I thought "F***" and decided that there was only one way to get around this problem - drop two cogs and do one. I got away from them by the skin of my teeth!!

when i was a lot (lot) younger i had a 'high speed' pursuit with a panda car of some form on a LT50 (i doubt it could muster 25mph ), i had to ram it twice before playing chicken with it and a 2 foot wide gap in a fence. not the most intelligent thing i've ever done but you live and learn.

(all of this happened on a private road).

worst i had was tanning down the m1 in works van around a ton next thing cars behind are pulling over then i see a 4x4 with blue lights i shat my self as i pulled over to the middle lane (hoping it would go past) it pulled in behindi thought i am done for.

then he pulls in to the inside lane n shoots off on the slip road

i overtook the same undercover cop car twice in one night, both at just around 100mph (on my rs125) once in a 30 and once down a by-pass... yes i was young and stupid, bike now sold.

he eventually found me sitting on mackys, he had only pulled in to turn around... i got 3 points for having no L plates, that was it.

Both went from a standing start. First to chicken out looses. Must of been at 100+ mph. My golf was making all sorts of crazy noises but out of nowhere an Astra came screaming up behind us and flicked on the blues.

We both came to a stop on the hard shoulder and the copper drove inbetween us and shouted 'Your lucky I got better things to do or you both would be without a liscence' Never shat myself so much in all my life.

The event pretty much killed off any 'ring racing action for a good few weeks:-(

Early one morning in decmeber on a desterted A55 was following a mate in a 9000 doing between 90-100 when all of a sudden we round a corner to see an known unmarked Volvo parked in a layby after pulling someone in, I brake and he fly's by, copper pulls out gives chase to him, by the time i catch up hes standing outside the car and the copper is in the middle of the road waiting for me.....

We both got breath tested as part of the Anti-drink drive campaign, reason we were pulled in was: "You were wearing Santa hats", he had assumed we were coming from a party.

April Bank-hols, Conway tunnels had been cruising at 75-80, slowing down for heavy traffic and speeding up at the quiet stretches, i notice a navy galaxy following at a distance, i look down at my speedo to check, i look up and for some unknown reason a woman with P plates just pulls into the fast lane doing a slow speed (no other car on the road), i decide that unless i brake hard (road was wet here) i had to undertake, so i pulled in and carried on, glaxy flashes its headlight forcing this woman to get out of his way at that point the blue lights come on the galaxy and i end up with a Section 59 for Undertaking, i argued it saying that my only other options was to drop anchor or crash into her, his reply was "you should have flashed her out of the way, and if i see you doing over the limit again again ill do you for speeding instead".

All in all a fair cop and I've learned.

Their is a time and a place for it and it isnt on public roads
