Maxiumum speeding offence you have got away with?

Featured Replies

I don't bad an eye lid at people saying they were doing 100, 115 or whatever in a 60/70

But when you are doing it in a 30, there really is no excuse...

Thats what I mean,

If its on the motorway its a whole different story. But if your doing 100 in a 30, its not really acceptable. I'm no prude by any means, 35, even 40 at a push can be okay. But anything over that is just foolish.

I tend to speed on dual carriageways and M-ways, but having kids and common sense means I never speed in 30 zones, due to the amount of kids playing around the streets. How would you feel if you knocked a kid over at 60 in a built-up area, 'cos it's around a 100% chance that you'd kill them, you'd lose your licence, and your family would probably disown you, not to mention yuor community.

Like has been mentioned, there is a time, and more to the point, place, to go quick, and it's not in built-up areas.

Rant over for now, back to threads with some substance to them.

i think its "interesting" to know what people have got away, just because it is but with most people they have said its been in past times and they have learnt and what not so its not like they're bragging and we are not exactly praising anyone....much...

I once got done doing mac 2 in a 5mph zone, wowzors

I regularly exceed 10mph in public carparks, even though they're 5mph zones!

:finger: society!

i agree with what most people have said about the speeding in built up areas, think its stupid, last thing i wanna do is kill someone, crash me car or lose me licence, m ways and duel carrigeways are different, but even then i ain't gone faster than 80.

got away with doing 32 - 33 past a camera ,in a 30, that flashed me about a month back, no film obviously

Yeah agreed, I don't speed in 30 zones, but I do quite like going up the hard shoulder of the A1 at ... mph.

I've seen 130 on the clocks of my Escort in a 30 come to think of it

Boost + very very wet road = fun

i was coming home from a mates house, was just going dark, when another mate pulled up behind me at a set of lights, flashed me(no jokes please)lolz so off we go,getting up to about 90 or so,i came round a bend doing just under 90 in a 50 zone, see a long line of traffic oncoming,(about 7 cars or so) in a split second i thought to myself,i wonder if one of them is a copper...

just at that moment, blue lights go on from this line of traffic,i bake a trouser cake in an instant, keep the foot down til i got about a mile up the road and then sat at speed limits all the way home, didn't pull either of us but i learnt my fookin lesson, aint drove like that in a long time...probably won't either, not a prude but i just cherish my liscence too much.....

You mean you're not adverse to a little porn every now and again???

This story is for getting pulled and not really doing anything wrong.

Was down the pub with my dad on a wet winter evening.

Decided to leave about 10pm. The pub is on an A road.

As we pulled out we saw some headlights furthur down the road heading towards us. As we were driving down the road my dad was making sure to avoid all the large puddles. Got about 2 miles down the road into a built up area the car behind started flashing blue lights

The copper asked my dad for a breath test as he thought he was pissed driving home from the pub swerving across the road. We felt quite stupid where we said about the puddles lol

years ago i was racing a train between craven arms and ludlow on my old gixxer 750, never thought that the barrier at the crossing would be down. whilst waiting a police car pulled up behind me and gave me a bo**oking, noisy exhaust, small no plate etc. dont think he clocked my speed though, phew

was on the way to the girlfriends the other day and i went through a set of lights on amber, at the laft of the junction was a police landrover. so i thought s**t, wizzed up the road took a left and went down there to get away from him. so i blipped it to get a bit further infront. was doing about 35 at the very most. anyway the landy finally caught me up at the next corner.

so i pulled in, he then tryed to tell me that i was doing 46mph which i was confused at because he wasnt able to see me untill the last point. so i asked him how he worked that out?

"our celibrated equiptment on board recorded it" i thought this was funny because non of the landrovers have calibrated equiptment in them. so after the speeding part was explained i was given 3 points £60 fine

Then the amber light i went through he was convinced i went on red, so i didnt argue and said right ok was another 3 points and £60 fine

The my number plates which a mate printed at his work, some fancy font. just turns out the copper knew my mates dad who owns the garage. so i got 3 points for that aswell, and my mate got a telling of.

so he says 9 points your fines, goes and roots about in the boot for his tickets. comes back and says

"your lucky i dont have any tickets"

makes you wonder, are they actually being seriouse? then let me go!

Off the clock beating a t5 across a by pass at 2 in the morning, finally caught up, said he had to hit 145 to catch up to me, i said really? i was only doing 60.. took me to caught with an average of 120 thats including taking a roundabout lol, i called thier bluff they dropped it, but that was a bit naughty last time ill be racing t5's think i just needed to prove to myself that my motor was fater than the fuzz. i guess i proved my point lol

I've got the numberplates of all undercover police cars (that i know of) written on a piece of paper which i have attatched to my sunvisor....:ninja:

Sorry, you're an idiot. Court is spelt like this.

As expected this thread annoys people like me, and the coolness attached to speeding, getting away with it and running from the police is probably the reason why the number of road deaths are four times the amount of homicides in this country.

We all speed by some measure, but some stories on here make people look like tools. I hope people have, and will learn lessons.

And you're a loser. What use is that if they pull behind and follow you at night? Or if they clock you before you can drive 'normally'? If you have the need to do that you clearly often drive like a dickhead.

If anyone thinks I'm a spoil sport or a loser, take a minute to look at some road safety websites or speak to anyone who has lost a friend/relative due to someone's stupidity. A real wake up call.

Almost all Police 4x4's (wildlife unit excluded) are traffic cars, so are VASCAR equipped. Personally, I think he just felt like putting the shitters up you.

I lost a mate just over 2 years ago to an inpatient driver so i know the feeling but throwing insults isn't the way to get your point across or make anyone learn a lesson now is it ?

I know undercover cars by sight round here so often keeping my eyes open but i never speed in a 30 zone. Its on the dual carriageways and motorways i open the car up.

Got away with having no MOT when i had an accident and accidentally wheelspinning on wet brickwork one night but never speeding.

best mates dad got 3 points and £60 for doing 144mph down the a63 outside hull. although he does have one of those IAM things and knows all the coppers in hull

never comited a speed afence dont want to loose my freedem lol

Moza, your a lucky bastard lol...

i never speed in built up areas either but on dual carrigeways and motorways it has been known for me to do 130mph only when its not that busy .

Me and my mate where down our local industrial estate talking and I had a feeling my Polo was quicker than his 1.2 Corsa

So lined up side-by-side and showed him my 1.0L was quicker

As we was racing a copper came towards us, swerved out the way but at this point, I turned my lights off and went down the 1st road I could find.

Mate got pulled over for street racing and speeding (they said between the speeds of 65-70mph [how can they work that out???] but at the time, it was more like 95

I'm not proud and since then, I have calmed down ALOT!!! Lesson learnt me thinks :)

BTW...........it was about 2.30am
