saw it in retro cars this month, have no idea if its legal or not, but its interesting to say the least

saw it in pvw, i think its cool,

for now,

till more than 5 people do it.

then it will be cool to not do it

why would it be illegal, i'm sure theres no law that states you can't physically remove markings from a tyre?

saw it aswell today when reading pvw at work.

looks good.

might try it.

anyone got any pics of a car with it one from a distance to see if its a real big difference.

it is pimp.

altho i think letters should be removed to spell stuff.

anyone got a pic ??

how do you do it?

Well when you white wall a tyre properly you remove a lot of material from the side wall. So I can't see why taking a few markings off would be illegal.

I'm sure when people have there tyres scrubbing on the arches its worst than taking a few raised letters off.

you get fine sandpaper matey, and sand em off

fine sand paper then tyre shine them back to life!

They would be illegal to produce and sell for road use, but i cant see any reason why doing it yourself would be illegal.

Smoothed tyres  what next

i had smooth tire walls on the rear of my old gt.

if i had of known it would be cool to have them i would of fitted the fronts to the rear and let them get scrubbed senseless as well. maybe if i want to stay ahead of the crowd i should do some burn outs till my tires are totally smooth

lol I've been running smooth walls for months now, I've done it to my last 3 sets of tyres(yes camber has its way). i did it using a 400grti disk on a DA sander at work, looks peachy now I've got white walls too.

Only reason I can think of why anyone would do it is to hide they're pikey cheap tyres

surely then slight rubbing marks on your tyres cant be illegal :? wtf

LOL what next!

it looks wank

Whatever next,purely to be different,indeed.

Well, tyres have been made in all sorts of colours, including white and stripy. That was supposed to be the next big thing, didnt happen.

They could colour the blocks in layers,so when the tread wore down,it changed colour.

Hard to see what vehicles alternative coloured tyres would work on,though.

They are only smooth on one side, so all the writing is still there.

He used to be one here too I belive. Lupoboy or something. He used to have the blue lupo on TH-lines that R&A used in their ads

Smoothed ass crack next :-D I'm fibre glassing mine up right now.
