1990 Jetta GTi 16v– electric windows, central locking, heated front seats, Sony CD player, Sunroof, Alarm. TSW alloys (scuffed), lowered all round.

139k, full service history up to 102k owner serviced since. He has owned the car for 3 years during which time it has had everything done that was needed. This includes:

Replace speedo cable

Accelerator cable

New calipers on front

New discs & pads all round

New starter motor

New plugs and leads

2 new front wishbones

4 new tyres (225 40 16)

Cambelt changed

New custom built stainless exhaust (pretty damn loud)

When new the car was taken to GTI Engineering for their RE1900 upgrade that consists of the following:

1. Cylinder block bored and plateau honed to 83.5mm

2. Alloy pistons with valve clearance cut-outs

3. Gasflowed cylinder head

4. Gasflowed inlet & exhaust manifold

5. Selected valve springs

6. Modified camshaft timing

7. Modified distributor

8. Modified injection system

This gives you a 1.9 with 160 bhp (It’s actually still registered as a 1.8) The conversion was carried out from new. Conversion cost in 1990 was £2395.00 Plate in engine bay from GTi Engineering still mint.

The car is in crazy good condition, goes like total stink and inside is pretty much immaculate. There is a slight crease on the driver’s door as you can see in the photos, but apart from that all panels are good. Dent could come out with some work, or a replacement door for a few quid would be easier. Only rust is a tiny, and I mean tiny part on bonnet leading edge, and a very very small bit on the crease in the door.

12 months MOT, 6 months tax. So rare with the GTI Engineering conversion, in addition to being a rare Jetta GTi 16v anyway.

Literally a carrier bag of history and receipts and brochures etc, including every MOT from new.

The only reason he is selling is that his new house doesn’t have anything but on street parking, and work are getting fed up with it being stored here. He wishes he could keep it, but as a demo driver out every day of the week he rarely gets time to use it these days.

He has been a VW nut for years and years and I have bought a car from him myself. He is one of the most honest people you could ever meet and a bit of a clean freak so you won’t be disappointed with the car.

He is asking an extremely reasonable £1600.00 ono.
