that was what i thought too

but if you want to do it 195/40/16 is the biggest I've seen on so will probly need 195/35/17s

oh and wrong section btw

165/40 is the closest match to standard tyre sizes and will pretty much guarantee no rubbing, 165/35 is slightly lower profile than the original sizes and will help if you plan on going low low low. Apple bottom jeans etc.

185/35s are available and would probably be the best size to maintain a reasonable contact patch, and not be dangerously narrow for the rim. They are also spot on with regards to rolling radiuses.

195/35s are unavailable.

Hope this helps.

ok ill go for 16" it was just i had a chance of a set of bbs rc cheap

Hey if you can get the right tyre size and lower it sensibly I see no reason why you can't run 17s, small wheels are overdone!

Well said...

17's could look good if done nicely

I've only ever seen one mind and it was a bit of a shocker

I have 17" on my Polo. You just needs the 185/35-17 tires and there will be no problems at all ;)

Wow.....how did you get 17s to fit??

I tried and failed :(

Now that does look cool, very cool in fact, what size rims etc? are u lowerered ? how much ? and are ure arches pulled / rolled>?

mk4man: You need the right tires! the 185/35-17 is smaller than 195/40-16 ;)

The rims are 7x17" ET35 with 5mm spacer in front an 13mm back. I have lowered it max, abaut 100-110mm. It stops in the rollbar in front now. Light rolled back only. :)
