Featured Replies

I decide tonight seen as the weather was good to wash my 16v and take a few pics - I kind of got carried away with the pics and managed to fill my memory card and run my battery flat!!!

Here are the best of the pics!

Also I've got a couple of pictures of something that we found in a hedge a few doors down from my mother-in-laws place!

Its a 1.6 GLX with 39K on the clock - belongs to the son of the house owner and it failed its MOT years ago for a leaking PAS hose and its been sat there since!

Thats the thing - I couldnt find a single spot of rust on it! All the stuff in the pictures are like green moss/mildue from the hedge its under!

I've knocked on the door and spoke to the guy about it - asked if it was for sale and if he was interested in selling I'd like first dibs if possible!

Nice one. A bit of a clean and a polish then and it should look lovely!

its no G40 :( lol

clean n tidy lol

All I did was go for a drive to try and decide which car has to go! Needed some time to myself and ended up going passed all these place I use to see aboiut when I first started driving - so i went there for the evening!

Need 1 of my cars to go! Either the GTD or the G40! I've put the G40 up for sale, but put it high on purpose! The GTd i've been offered money for, but it was only £300 and the guy only wanted it for the running gear to convert his mk1 Caddy - he got politely told to "Do one!"

If I sell the G40 at least someone is more likely to look after it than if I sold the GTD! But if the G40 gets wrecked by somebody else then i'd be gutted!

howcome you got nice weather in perth last night?

it was pishin down in fife

edit: rubbish spelling

the previous owner of my old smalllight said he had a 17 year old kid turn up with 1500 quid cash to buy it but the guy told him to fuck off cos he knew he would wrap it round a tree. i felt so bad having to ring him up to tell him it was a bbq'd mess now :(

id honestly keep the G if you can, just pop it into the garage and try and hold onto it for a few more years, i can see prices going through the roof as more people find out about Gs through the clubs popularity, g40s are stripped to provided conversions to other polos golfs and other dubs, and some just end up stacked or pistons melt.

plus you dont have to worry about mr tax man wanting to rape you blind in zee forseeable future as its only a 1.3

Cheers for you input!

I'd hate the GTD to end up being used as a conversion for another car - same with the G40. But I guess once its sold its no longer upto you what happens to it!

Bet the guy was a bit gutted about your BBQ?

haha just dont sell the GTD to a) modest mouse :D or b) anyone in the scene really, I'm sure you can find a nice old chap who wants a bit of his youth back while still being sensible.

and yep to say he was gutted was an understatement. he didn't believe me at first when i told him and i was still coming to terms with it like 3 hours after it happened.

oh and the 2nd picture down, the car looks so clean and then you drove through the biggest puddle known to man hahahaha

how much do you reckon that guy wants for the glx? surely not worth any more than 200 in that state?

Good luck selling one of the motors anyway, lets hope its not the G

just sell it to anyone willing to part with the cash, fuck who it goes to.

i just sold my valver, i couldnt care less what the new owner does to it. i've got my money so i'm happy.

No offense Foxie but an original G40 and even an original GTD (in that colour) are slightly different to a Mk4 16v!

Andy... offer £100 for the Polo, I'm sure they'd be delighted

Not really... it can still be someones pride and joy regardless of how rare or sought after it is...

if he got the asking price offered to him by some spotty 17year old who said he's gonna put lexus lights on it, why not ? he's got his money so surely the owner can do what he wants to it ? even set it alight in front of him if he really wanted to...

If you look at it that way then yeah but what I meant that you weren't bothered who got the car if they paid you the money, but Andy would like to think his would go to a good home.

Well i'd like to think my valver went to a good home with all the work/money i poured into it.

Things dont always work out that way though. money is money regardless of who it's coming from :-D

All I can say is I hope the same doesnt happen to any of my cars what happened to my last mk4! :(
