lupo gti vs saxo vts

Featured Replies

well it said 133 on my sat nav(off the clock on speedometer) and he was pulling away. This was on my private road which is side by side with the A1 .

How quick is a lupo GTI to a Polo GTI there much in it?

0.4 of a second 0-60 between Lupo and Polo, that's because of the extra weight. Parkers say the Polo does it in 8.4, I've timed mine at 8.3

i would have though the VTS as they are made of cardboard

I have just wet myself

fack em, dubs are cooler.

I had a go against a 106 GTi the other day, he was about 4/5 car lengths behind me upto about 80 then he was miles away.

I have no doubt in my mind a Saxo would slaughter a polo gti or lupo gti.

french cars are shit end of lol plus polos and lupos look alot better

I think VTS's are faster to 60 than 106 GTIs

If I remember rightly, the 106 has a far taller 2nd gear, but I might be wrong.

the 106GTIs do 75ish in second whereas the VTS's do 68 or something, but the 106 is a slightly lighter body than the saxo.

Maybe a shade quicker but which one has a mandatory burberry cap installed?

VTS's are quite a bit faster than 106 GTi's anyway, rapid little things!

Also worth mentioning that the 106 I'm talking had no rear seats and sounded a bit tweaked, but still was very nippy for what it was.

So I'm guessing it was similar to a stock saxo.

Yeah, not disputing that, i defo wouldnt like to have a crash in one :)

A VTS and a 106 GTi is an identicle car practically.

205 gti's are shit then? bitch please

A 205 won't hold together as long as a mk1 golf gti. I know which one I'd prefer to own at 130k!

yep they are! been n two lol absolute dog shit one with about 270 bhp all it did was go in a straight line fast. why not buy a glanza v that does everthing you need and its the fastest hatchback you can buy bar the nissan pulsar but 1.3 turbo vs 2 litre no contest if glanza v had 2 litre aswell

A 205 won't hold together as long as a mk1 golf gti.

who told you that??

i've owned a mk1 gti (campaign, so it was one of the newest ones) and that no sills left, rotten the boot, rear arches and in quite a few non structural ares, and that was in good shape compared to some i've seen. mk1 rust like fuck.

where as my step dad has had 3 205's and one 309 gtis, non of them suffered and major rust and the only problem he had with any of the was a cracked exhaust manifold. mk1 gti owners dream of trouble free motoring like that

plus imo the 205 seems to handle better.

I've never really got this "its french" "build quality" "interiors" arguement when it comes to older cars, I mean fair enough if the car your talking about is new but:

a) What do you expect for under 2k

b) Have you seen the interior on older polos, looks like the 6n dash was made on art attack :D

I'm talking about bang for buck, and thats all.

3 questions for you mate

1. are you smoking crack?

2. did the 2 you went in have mi16 lumps in them?

3. were you a driver or passenger?

standard 205's have nothing like 270bhp so they were either tuned to fuck or had had an engine swap, any front wheel drive car will handle shit with more power/weight going to the front wheels than they were designed for. if the ones you went in were standard and your just over exaggerating about the power then who ever was driving them was a shit driver, handling wise the 205 gti will show up most hot hatches (including much newer ones).

the best thing about people on this site banging on about shit French build quality on this site is most of the people banging on about Germany build quality drive Spanish built cars

one was standard handled ok. and yes one was tuned for track racing and was a bit edgey.i was driver in standard and passenger in the track one, glanza v still handles better, is quicker is shit loads more reliable and holds value alot better.

a standard 205 gti (1.6) was one of the greatest handling standard cars I've been in. FACT.

so much fun, would defo consider owning one.

had a mate who had a 106 gti, had a few mods, and that put a massive smile on my face. Bigger smile than when i went in a G40 thats for true.

Who cares - they all have their pros and cons. At the end of the day...

Lupo GTI = ace

Polo GTI = ace

106 GTI = ace

Saxo VTS = shite
