Changing form Diesel clocks to petrol clocks

Featured Replies

I need to change my diesel clocks (pre 98) as the mileage display is faulty so I was able to find a 1.4l petrol clocks (pre 98) having only the rev counter coming up to 6.5k instead of 5.5k which didn't bother me.

The only strange thing happening is that the rev counter will jump to over 6.5k rpm (the maximum it can go) and won't get stuck from there while driving and the fuel will stay lower than shown on the original diesel clocks.

Are the clocks nackered or it's just something to do with different voltages?

P.S. : on here members said that different clocks will work just fine that's why I did not buy a diesel clocks in the first place.
