MOT soon

Featured Replies

Hey

I think my car is going to fail but need other people's ideas

Interior & boot light don't work

Exhaust doesn't stick out the rear bumper

My rear tyres are very low (on the limit i think)

Hole in my exhaust

Would these make my car fail??

Cheers

Ben

tyres will if they are lower than 1.6mm. Pretty much any tyres have wear indicators on them which are slightly raised up bit inbetween the tread. If the tread has worn right down to these raised bits then you need new tyres.

A hole in your exhaust will fail too. Will need to have that section replaced or repaired.

Interior/boot lights don't matter and standard 6ns don't have exhausts that stick out anyway so that doesn't matter.

interior and boot lights dont come into it at all mate. and neither does the sticky out exhaust unless the mot station are really arsey about stuff?

however the tyres and holed exhaust could be a problem. but are easily fixed if you have the money. what other bad points has it got mate? anything else you are worried about?

just go around the car the day before making sure your washer level is topped up, all your lights work. ( reverse lamp and front fogs dont come into mot ) and that your wipers arent split etc. these are easy things that could save you failing

Ahhhhh, thing is, I thought I posted this up but I didn't :( and the MOT is between 9-12 tomorrow

Everything else is fine. Handbrake is abit high and brakes are low but I do have some new discs and pads to go on after the MOT

If I lower it before MOT, will it fail on anything (no rubbing, trust me LOL)

best bet is to wait till afterwards. we get some cars that are lowered in and you cant get the jack under them on the ramp lol but hope it all goes well. pm me tomorrow when you know how its done :)

p.s. good luck!

I will post on here anyway and send you PM

Cheers for the luck Fox, I think I will need it :S

you'll do fine. most i can think of it failing on is one or two brake pipes corroding or something? maybe the tyre and exhaust like you said. maybe the odd bulb out. dont worry :)
