I would fit the part and get the car tracked . Couldnt bring myself to skank anyone in such a way that it would be dangerous to there health . Iff your selling a car to someone for a reasonable price and it is advertised as a runner then i would expect to recieve a car in that condition .

sold as seen, is no longer a legal excuse. If you knowingly sell something and don't tell the buyer about a known fault, they can then return the goods and demand a full refund.

I wouldnt be happy about selling a car or anything that has a major defect, unless the person buying it knew about it and understood the issies the fault might cause.

personally i'd fix the fault and go to bed with a clear conscience!

if you don't tell someone about a known fault, then the car is clearly misrepresented, it is however down to the buyer to proove it, which in many cases very difficult to do.

If he kills himself in the car after buying it off you when you knew there was a problem you would be accountable. By law you can only sell something you know is safe unless you have disclosed otherwise.
