as some of you may know I've been forking about with my banded steelies for a while now, however tonight i finaly saw some decent progress :>

Thats just one coat of colour atm will put upto 3 coats on but I've used 2 cans already on just the front face :[ the insides of the wheels are sprayed black. and to show what they will look like on the car with the center caps in place...

what do you guys think ?

Out of interest why didn't you do the whole wheel? Mine came primered so I just did the lot, insides, outside even the bits that'll be covered by the tyre!

did you just spray yours straight off, like when he sent them back? ...god mine looked shit they had a crappy line all the way round were the join was n was dead uneven were he had grinded it back, so took time flatting it back and filling it back into shape. so they are dead smooth now, like they should be :>

i sprayed the inside and the bit covered by the tyre black for a couple of reasons really... mainly because the black paint is cheaper than the VW silver colour, but also because it doesnt show up the dirt as much lol.

did you get yours from wide wheels mate?

Got them lackered up last night, will upload pic's when i get home from work.

does anybody know how long i should leave them before getting tyres put on them ?

once i get some tyres fitted ill trial fit them onto the car and post some picks up for you guys, but I'm not putting them on untill my car is fresh out of the body shop all smoothed ;>

thanks neil, i spent that long repairing panels on my old motorbike as i always seemed to scratch it so i think I've got the nack of it now lol.

i got them done at wide wheels took ages to come though lol, then i smoothed and painted them myself :>

ohh and ordered my tyres today 195/45 continentals, so get a pic up for u lot next week with them trial fitted

bit of an update... badgered the bands on... also decided to take the back seats out... just gota get her booked into the body shop for her smoothing & fixing her up abit & need the rear arches rolled so i can sit her abit more level... been scraping the tarmac allnight :> comments please :>

Yeah, I just sprayed them cause I want them on. There is a line on them but I'm going to get them repainted properly when I have a chance. The lip needs straightening out as well because the courier bent it, make the wheel look buckled when its rolling, which isn't good.

I didn't realise you had done them black, just cause there masked up in the pic. Always a good idea to paint them to protect them a bit.
