Well I got rid of the Escort because it's useless, it's not a bad car but it's boring and a nightmare to work on.

So here's it's replacement:

It's certainly not immaculate by any means, but it seems to be a very solid car and I can't fault the way it drives. Not the fastest of the Polo breed, but a hell of a lot more fun than the Escort ever was.

Just gonna drop it 60mm on some 14" Zenders I have, gonna get some tyres put on them tomorrow, should look quite good I think.

Todays modifications: Uprated headlight bulbs, G40 gearknob, CD player! And I gave it a little service.

Next on the list: lower it, wheels, fit my central locking kit, sort the headlights out because they are still useless, and sort the blowing exhaust!

Oh... it's done 48k miles too.

It is rather pink yes, suits the street sleeper look though, nobody would guess that it's got a massive 55 bhp.

I'm sure if you get it back to red it'll look reet good, already looks pretty clean. What kind of Zenders have you got? Would have been awesome if the RA's were 14"

You know I am almost half tempted to get rid of the Golf but I don't know. So much easier to make fast. I bought the Coupe S to use as a daily while I'm sorting the Golf out, but it's so much fun to drive.

The Golf is only easier because you can throw an ABF at it...with the Polo you can just go steal kwijibo's AFH...pop that in the Polo and job is a good 'un. Bet the Polo has better body work than the Golf?

Look to be the same Zenders as Jamie has on his Lupo...

Nah the Golf is close to immaculate bodywork wise whereas the Polo does have a few issues, namely a sill that has been welded up for it's last MOT but wasn't painted over so seems to have gone crumbly again.

It also has lots of bits of coloured tape covering rust bubbles. One weekend I'm going to pull them all off, and see about touching them in, then give the car a f-ing good going over with a machine polisher and compound.

I think Jamie has 15" versions but yeah similar, I was thinking of buying them off him for the Golf but I don't like the tyres on and I'm not paying an extra £200 for tyres I'd just bin.

I've got a 60/40 kit to go on, gonna run 185/55s until I decide what "route" I want to take the car. I actually like the pinstripe. Rub strips will be going yes.

Toby, thats Buster's old car ain't it? Personally I'm really liking it on the BBS wheels.

I remember when Buster got it and had to weld the sill up cause it was knackered. I'd cut it off completely and fit a new one, do the job properly an' all that. A bit of tidying on the bodywork and it'd be a real beauty.

just because you think the s is fun at the min toby you know your gonna get bored of it. besides the golfs in good condition and is just waiting for you to stop fucking about and get an engine in it, where as the polo will need the body work sorting and then you've still gotta go though the engine conversion...

Yeah it is Buster.g40s old car. The BBS's are his and to be returned! Might do the sill, might not. Shall see how long I intend on keeping the car!

Nah if anything I'll just go GT, looking for a scrapper Mk3 GT right now as it happens. ABD... possibly...

Now... got the wheels on. 185/55-14s, a bit large, but ideal for what I need. Needs a slight drop but not too much, just to get the tyres somewhere near the arches.

Looking good Toby, some lowerage and it will be sweeeet!!
