I'm sorry but...

Why do you assume that comments are based on jealousy? For all you know, some of the posters on here could be very rich indeed and have polo's as 2nd cars.

Some cars can redeem themselves by being great in other areas. For instance, people might say that my car is a hairdressers car, but the fact that it drives like a go-cart and makes you smile everytime you go somewhere outweights that.

However, something like this is not aesthetically pleasing, it is hugely impractical in all the wrong ways, does not actually have a purpose or focus.

It is a 100 thousand pound watch.

Saying he didnt buy it as a status symbol, is a bit like saying you bought an armarni suit todo the gardening because its more comfortable.

you mean its not aesthetically pleasing to you... your new shape mini, may not be aesthetically pleasing to old style mini lovers, and yours doesnt have any purpose or focus either, in fact i take that bak it has the same purpose as any other slightly sporty car... it puts a smile on your face...in the same way his cayenne probably puts a smile on his face

awsome... i really like these

if youve got the money to do the gardening in an armani suit, then fuck it why not, oh hang i shouldnt really, cos sumone might b lookin over the fence n thinkin "hes wearing tht suit as a status symbol"

The Cayenne could have cost £15k (as some of them now do, fantastic residuals on these...not..go have a look on pistonheads) and it would still be a shit car? The fact that it cost £105k and is a monstrosity (I believe monster was the term used in the first post title?) just makes it even worse...cost is not the main issue to get hung up on though....

It's a small hatch back...carries 2 or 3 people in comfort with good economy and preforms with a good turn of speed. It's not trying to be anything it isn't. The Cayenne is a 4x4 that doesn't do anything particularly well...other than being big and excessive in almost every way...certainly doesn't climb every mountain, ford ever stream.

Porsche only made it as a license to print money anyway, the people that head Porsche never miss a trick and it's the reason they are the most profitable car manufacturer.

I dont think jealousy has anything to do with it, if he had bought a sweet car everyone would be lovin it. I know if i had the money id buy some dear cars and i hope to someday earn the money if i work hard enough.

As for the comments saying "maybe he just loves cars and didnt buy this as a status symbol", well it ok to say that but if he was actually into cars wouldnt he have bought one of the many many other cars that just do it better than the cayenne for the same or less money?

the cayenne is a car that can do way over 155mph if deristricted, it can carry 5 people in absolute comfort and luxury, and if need be WILL go off road - got locking diffs, hill descent control, low range box, strenghtned sidewalled tyres, and after that will do 0-60 in 5 secs, which is an engineering triumph considering it weighs way over a couple of tonnes, whereas minis may have backseats but no way on earth can adults occupy them, and the boot is ridiculous, just about big enough for a loaf of bread, minis trying to be a family hatch n failing miserably

My uncles got one there fookin ace

and as for the haters its the gezzers money an he will buy what he wants cause he can

It's not going off road on those tyres/wheels...

5 second 0-60mph isn't an engineering triumph...an engineering triumph is a gear box that changes ratios in 60 milliseconds...or rear suspension control arm the eliminates oversteer under braking...or direct injection which increases power + torque whilst reducing emissions...5 second 0-60 is just sticking an absolutely massive engine in a car and feeding it with a couple of turbo chargers and to hell with fuel economy/emissions.

It doesn't do anything a fast estate wouldn't do with more subtlety and style. You aren't going to get people mouthing things as you drive past in an Audi Rs6 for example.

Mini isn't a family car...it's aimed at younger people with out ankle biters.

No one is saying you're not allowed one...but people are entitled to air their opinions be they good/bad. It's forum...without discussion it's pointless. Blindy88 has made some good points up till now and kept it civil...heated discussion is good!

We're not saying he shouldnt buy one if he wants to. We are saying we cant see why he would want to.

my only comment would be..careful posting about it on here and details about its wherabouts etc...love it or hate it these are target cars for professional theives who export the cars under false identities to countries like malta and the east iirc.

So many haters on this site, if the geeza loves his cars and can afford it fair play to him, if he wanted to I'm pretty sure he could of bought a house, boat, flat or whatever he wanted if he wanted in that price range. Aint exactly a shit car either. Is a beast!!

You can always expect to get different opinions from different people on a public forum!

LOL AT THREAD!

worst Porsche made....ex drug dealers cars but even they have gone to rang rover!

hes owned & driven some of the best performance cars on the road.. this ticks all the right boxes imo. tried to get him into moddin cars or havin a toy for the weekend but its sooo not him. this is the 1st modded car i think he has owned.. modded at porsche. he likes a car he can use every day.. take the kids to the beach in with the bucket n spades in the boot.. will sit in traffic.. and when he fancies abit of fun goes like stink!!

yep.. hes had a RS6.. E63 AMG.. 4.8is X5 among others.

had on loan from a car club GT2 RS.. 996 turbo.. GT3.. noble M12.. ferrari 360cs.. orignal AC cobra.. lamborghini gallardo.. astin martin DB9. SL55 AMG. coz I'm into cars as much as him I'm the 1st person he will phone n come pick me up. he treats these cars with so much respect.. what they deserve.

no he didnt pay anywhere near list price for it but list price is 105k. i stated this to try n explain that its not a standard cayenne turbo but highly modded at porsche. he looked around for a long time.. knows alot about the spec n was amazed this car came up.. he would of never spec this car to this level. I've managed to talk him into comin to prept/players as i do know afew people with the same passion for cars as us.. even puttin it in the show n shine so people can have a good look round it. he wasnt impressed i had done that as hes not the type to show off.. would rather park it in the corner but what are mates for!! lol. hes down to earth n will sit n have a beer n chat.. hes a quiet guy n a bit shy.. not up his own arse.. one of my best friends.

some people seem to understand what this car is n others i think dont understand cars as well as i thought they did. i do think I've made a mistake postin on here.

david.
