I'm after getting a 1.4 16v 6N2 polo :-) I think I have a rough idea of what I want to do to it when I get it, I'm defo gonna supercharge it rather than turboing it :-D thats my first job, lol.

It is gonna be a weekend and a project car to start with :-)

Does anyone know where there is one for sale.....preferly red ?? And how much is it ??

I've never heard of anyone turboing a 1.4 16v 6n2 let alone supercharge it but at least you'll be different.

I do know however that you can turbocharge a 1.4 16v 6n (AFH engine) so I would imagine you could supercharge it too. I can't think of anyone offhand who has turbo'd one but I know for sure it can and has been done.

theres been a few on the club lupo forum who have used the same engine or the 1.6 16v, one is planning an eaton conversion and there seems to be a fair few problems associated with that with regards to actually driving the supercharger from the alternator or wherever due to the location of the eaton charger at the rear.

theres another who is doing a conversion with independant throttle bodies who is expecting quite a considerable gain!

deffo sounds like a good project, kudos for getting hands on, have you had any experience with motor cars before or just giving it a go?

Nah man, I have no experience of motors at all so I am really hoping it is going turn out ok, fingers crossed, lol. However I do know quite a bit to say I'm a girl,lol. But I only know about VWs and a little bit on Hondas as well. I am just gonna be brave and give it a go :-) its th only way out, haha. I'm really excited about it but I need to do a lot of reading about it I reckon which is a problem,lol. What would you advise me to read about 6N2 1.4 16v polos?

I have already tried there and there are some for sale but with mine being a project sort of thing, I want it to be perfect,lol, I beet thats fussy aint it,lol.

People I know are calling me mad for wanting one of these cars but I might be but I think I am doing it to be different and plus being a girl to do a project on a car, makes a change

Just now my AFH is standard apart from a BMC CDA kit which will add a hole 1 BHP if I'm lucky haha.

I have looked into doing 1 of 2 things to my AFH, turboing it is one and the other is headwork with group N cams. Will be years before I get anything done though if at all.

Yeah thats my problem at th min, I have all these ideas that I want to do to it and then I think Ahhh money, big problem....I ve still to get th damn car yet but the money isnt coming quick enough for me, haha

Yeah saying that they are pretty quick standard though :) so I dont even know why I am gonna supercharge it lol.

Yeah exactly, all your gonna do is have it accelerate in less time than it takes standard as they will hit the limiter in 5th standard, tried and tested (on private raods obviously)

To be honest i dont know that much about cars and it usually leads to more problems however its good getting stuck in, making sure you do loads of reading before during and after.

youll probably be looking at aftermarket engine management which can be a bit daunting, theres alot of take in, I'm still getting my head around it but theres plently of people who have done the same thing so you can usually send them a wee pm and badger them for advice.

good luck tho, will be an interesting project to follow when you get stuck in

edit: i drive my sisters clio at the minute, but I've got a little project on the go, a mk1 polo with a lupo gti 1.6 16v engine thats going in, I'm going to have to make my own loom and I've got a megasquirt ecu to try and wire up which should be interesting.

The reason i went for megasquirt as opposed to a standard wiring loom and ecu is the need for an immobilser defeat on the original which would cost around 100 quid, and the flexibility for further tuning ie/ forced induction, ITBs or Carbs becuase you can get the ecus programmed and mapped at a rolling road session to get the most out of your setup
