Go to www.gsfcarparts.com/ , search for the parts and add the prices up. Like a front brake hose is £8.75 each, and a rear is £7.50.

Thats not a bad idea...

yeah but its wer they get it from the suplier like alot of garage now charge alot for break houses wich is wrong i recon

thers no way they should of charged you that much labour i work in a garage and we only charge 200quid to replace a engine if you suply it! so somethiengs deffo wrong mate its get legal adivece personlay and try claim some of you are money back! beacuse what was on that list should of took hour and a half at the most! with just one person on it but u cant argue that cuz most garages say they had trouble getting stuff off  wich is pure bull shit! as i no workin in a garage lol

Yeah mate I could argue that it shouldnt of taken you that long, I mean they had my car for a good few days, but If they come up with excuses, what can I do? :S

i dont think you can realy to be honest mate best bet is to go to traiding standerds and see what they say beauce this garage cant be doin that its just unfair and i bet they aim it and young or older pepole as well !

 wtf rear drums never heard tht one before in all my life thay dont go wrong on 60 year old cars thay still got the originals on an workin fine there a lump of metal cant go wrong. i bet there was a little lip on inside of drum an couldent be bother to get the grinder on it. £50 an hour labour ware u going vw specilist rip of. if u look at the invoice the flexi hoses were all the same price front and back seems a lil suspiciouse backs will def be cheaper so they def over charging there. there mot is the only thing on that list that is resonably priced i hate garages like that gives people the impresion that there all like that we constanly have people commin in sayin we over charging an takin the pis thay go to another garage an come bk 20 mins later an say ok fair nuf book me in lol. thay are real nice people fair play u should ask to see the failer an see weather the brakes were shit on rear because with both cylinders an shoes an (drums) gone thay must have been pritty shit an warp on the front disks u would feal the pedal sort of going up an down under light breaking i reakon thay needed some money an stung u fookin bad sorry to say mate.

mate, sorry to say but you got bummed, no lube at all. the robbing bastards. thats harsh like.

nathgun your typing is bollox sort it out :) I can harldy read it..

And yes call trading standards.. and for future check before handing cash out.. or get dad to check before... and have a good breakdown!!!

Robbing bastards...

6 and a half hours to do wheel bearing, change a tyre do front and back brakes, change a hose and I'd assume bleed and top up fluid. My mum could do that faster working from a Haynes manual.

Changing a tyre takes 15 mins tops.

Back and front brakes an hour an end.

Bleed brakes half an hour max.

And assuming it's a rear bearing, you change that in half a second while the drum's off.

So that leaves them about 3.5 hours to have a wank.

Jokes aside though, I cant believe you paid nearly a grand for those repairs. Definetly been ripped off here mate. Not much you can do about it now, guess its good experience. But seriously, a grand to repair all that. :S
