After 8 hours picking and spraying...

... the bump strips are now gone, like wise the 'Polo' and '1,0l' boot lid badges an it looks 100x better.

Big thanks to POLOMON aswell for advice on spraying the front and back badges black.

The lack of bump strips isn't as noticable as on a light coloured car but it looks a lot better now it's all gone!

Next mods are black side repeaters, smoked back lights and thinking either clear front indicators, or a set of black angel eyes, what do you lot reckon would look better?

Piccys!

Hairdryer and a tiny bit of petrol on a rag and a body filler card to pick it off!

Hmm the pictures wont load for me :( Although I did this on my GT and it was a mission, and it was a hot day, worth it though I reckon. My friend didnt even notice but when I pointed it out he really liked it! :ninja:

Carb cleaner gets rid of the glue

I'm halfway thru doing this on my mk3... i looked in the FAQ and just purchased a fudge wheel so should have some trim-free doors very soon!

I used some autoglym tar remover, was actually really good, well worth the purchase, plus I got staff discount!

it took you 8hours to remove your bumpstrips and spray a some small badges ? :|

Looks good though! Reminds me of my 8v polo in its early stages

fudge wheel, took me 15minutes in the rain

i was just clearing off the old tape and glue, car looks lost without them side trims, and you will develop alot of donks on your door now, they do have a purpose!

Looks good but dont get angel eyes they look wank

8 hours!

You should have left them on, as your car is bog standard it doesnt really change anything plus you will get dints as mr knight has already said...

8 hours was all bump strips, back two badges, taking off the back and front badge, jog down to halfords to get spray paint, spray em up (15 mins between each coat, with 1 primer coat and 3 matte black coats) and let em dry then whackin 'em back on!

Not bad progress I'd say, lowering will probably be the next mods, when I can afford!
