Its not that much different from guys on here asking about G40s at 18 really, yeah I know M5s are in a completley different league but a G40 goes quick enough and handles like a bag of shite enough for someone who is trying to show off to and crash and die. Especially the build quality. Everytime I go out in mine I know in a way I'm putting my life on the line not because of my driving but because of other peoples driving and the safety of a mk3 is non existent.

Second that, they do with motorbikes until your 21, they should with cars. Although luckily (in some ways) insurance is so expensive here thats its pretty unlikely anyone young will get such a fast car, but cetainly not impossible + there is always uninsured drivers....... If I ever have a son that drives like a pr*ck I'll steal his wheels off his car one night......

Thats bollox aswell, about limiting the power untill you reach a certain age, what about race drivers? or other young guns who have been driving for years on private land? obviously they will be able to handle the power.

Completely agree with you on that one, although unfortunately its always the few that ruin it for the many before I passed my car test I'd been riding a small bike for the last couple of years and had no problem, then only time something came close to happening I managed to stop in time and then the driver saw me as they pulled out.....

Only point I disagree with is private land since that doesnt factor in other drivers which I always find are the problem, although in this case he was on private land with no other cars....

Yeah but you could argue then that other road users can cause you to have an accident no matter what vehicle youre in, be it the 2000bhp red victor or a tired old powerless lada etc

Agreed! Fair enough, I think the parents completely spoiled him with the cars (he had several by the sounds of it), but they weren't driving when it happened.

There was reports about the parents of the other kids starting legal proceedings against the kids estate, and because the car was registered in his dads name, he could be liable too. I mean, what, seriously? I understand the other parents would want vindication, but the drivers dad is going through the exact same as the rest without going through a load of legal stuff.

My thoughts on the story, (dont actually care) poor parents of the driver now have to live with people telling them its their fault their kid decided to take the car on a high speed run resulting in crashing and ruining the lifes of all the other parties involved, aswell as knowing they raised "a special one" who saw fit to "turn it all to max" on a car and drive flat out knowing full well he has no/little experience

Oh yeah, and they lost their child, a part of them - meh!

Poor families of all the others in the car too, well not so much "poor" people die, its inevitable, but its probs not nice for them at all

i have been driving on private land since i was about 13 and riding bikes since even younger but i wouldnt go out in a 500bhp car and try to show off to my friends, as said before it isnt the parents fault theres only so much they can do, at the end of the day its down to the driver, i just think its a shame that people died but its always gunna happen, youngsters trying to show off and crashing no matter what power cars bikes etc they have..

tis down to the driver, when your driving along, in your own car, polo or whatever, in some cases capable of over 100mph...its still your choice to take it there and risk an accident or whatever
