I use a team of 6 polish people, god knows what they use but it works!

I use Tesco shampoo and a sponge

I also use a scouring pad on any tough bits

yellow sponges are bad when i get chance i am going to get a Sheepskin Washmit as I've seen the amount of swirls in the paint on my dads new fiesta after a few washes with a yellow sponge

After some advise...

been a naughty boy and not cleaned my car for few weeks

and on deep dish wheels esp its not good...so had break dust sitting on my wheels for that long...

so today gave car a good clean not really into the whole cleaning whore thing (its hard when living in a flat)

anyway once cleaned my wheels noticed little black pits in the dish of the wheels :(

just wondering if anyone had advise to get it clean? or am i screwed :( or do i just need a bit more scrubbing?

sponges are fine if you are wise enough to give the car a good thorough rinse first

reading this i am going to change a few routines, thanks forde I'm swapping my sponge to sheepswool mitten and also my wash and wax to the gentle meguires one as i always think that turtle wax takes some of the shine off my car after polishing. a quick qustion though the blades that you can quickly take the water off, how do people see these i have an autoglym one and i do rinse it before i use it and would never use it on a dirty car but i was just wondering what peoples views are on them.

just ordered a load of stuff they have not got any washmits though so il get down to halfords for that thanks again

I've only got a basic kit, megs 3 step, 3/4 trim detailers, megs next gen paste wax megs metal polish, various megs and general cluths and hopefully soon a sh1t load of swissvax stuff :p

lack of money is the excuse to my small collection really , still doesent stop me trying to clean the car that bit harder

ok I'm lookin for a new car shampoo, I'm not into detailing or any of that, just want a shampoo thats good and not that expencive

megs IMO, snow foam's great if youve got a jet wash and a few extra quid.

Now I've got my new rust-free car, and its black, I'm going to upgrade my products and hopefully have a decent collection

I think you'll find they're not mate. The only time they're safe is when the car is spotless. As soon as a bit of dirt gets on teh sponge then i'm afraid its paint-swirl heaven

Which i do but VAG paint are notoriously hard work with a D.A. Polisher.

I went out and bought a wash mit after reading this

^ good man, got to get me a D.A i think next, only way forward i think.
