right seeing as though walshc can't go on edition38 for some unfortunate reason i'll start a progress thread for my mk2 on here aswell,i used to have a mk3 polo genesis which i unfortunately seized up just before christmas :(

so i went about 4 or 5 months with no sniff's of anything to buy,was after a mk4 polo or a GT when my mate rang me up and asked if i wanted a mk2 golf,i said i'd have a look at it,went to his nan's(who's it was) and she said i could have it for £60..now it looked like a bag of shit but it was an A reg and i know that they are hard to find so i got my mum and dad to get it me for my 19th birthday in may this year, since then I've been slowly doing bits at it and constantly changing my mind as to where i want it to go...

first job was the fuel pump,was pissing all over the engine bay so we had to tow it back home with my bro's work's van...

i'll let the pics explain some of it

wheel refurb - i finally got my hands on some 14" G60 style wheels a few week back when one of my best mate's said he had a set i could have,so the day that 2 of my uniroyal tyres (195/45/14) came i refurbed 2...funds only allowed 2 tyres

the bodywork isn't up to it's best and has seen far better days,i just thought it would look cool and be different at the same time,i do really like it but I've set my heart on red oxide now,so I'm gunna rub it down properly and get it ready for respray,then after I've had it red oxide for a while i'm havin it a really nice shade of light brown,going for the oldskool look seeing as it is pretty old :p

i change my mind a lot...

cheers dude...just found the colour I'm gunna do the car,can't decide wether to have it red oxide at all now,I'm thinking i might just get it completely prepped for resray and then descide what colour exactly,I've got white wheels and i don't know wether it will go with a sandy brown colour...hmmmmmmmm decisions decisions...

nah man edition38 show is a no-go...I'm going to my cousins wedding,weekend jobby,and plus I've heard bad coverage about edition38 show so I'm not too keen tbh...

I'm not hangin about cos i want it on the road asap.and I've quite a bit of spare time on my hands..I've gone 9 months without a car to drive and i really want this on the road before the missus goes to uni...and the fact that it's upsetting me that i have no car to go to local meets in.....

and i really wanna go to the blackpool 'cruise' at the end of september

change of plans on this as far as completion goes...gunna get everything i actually wanna do to the car before i put it on the road.......

this includes:

minting the engine bay i.e re-painting all bits black and silver to look stock or stealth

painting bay acid green

bike carbs

maybe 5 speed box if funds allow

new tyres for rear

weld subframes for seats

early jetta grille and slam panel/or early GTi grille

lower the front another 15mm with lowering top caps

space the rears out 32mm and camber shimmage

that's it for now until i can think of more but ill keep updating as i go on...hoping to be finished by christmas or maybe before....funds are low so i have to wait for every payday before i buy summit.....
