hi, I'm lookng at a 1997 6n polo thats quite local to me. It's a 1.4 CL and I'm interested in buying it as my first car, my dad would use it aswell so i can be a named driver on his policy. I am 17 and wil be lowering the car on coilovers and getting some wheels as a start. I've tried LV and some others, adrian flux wont insure under 25's and i dunno where else to look. I tried comparing websites but they dont seem to even cover me. anyone got any ideas what websites, companies etc that will cater for young and modified cars without breaking the bank? thanks a lot in advance

Mk3 is the win....

the age 17 and mods on a mk4 1.4 = silly quotes you better off with a mk3 plus there alot more fun to drive than the mk4

Do what i did, I'm with CIS, Co-operative insurance, I'm 19, paying £900 afta a year and abit of driving and i got a 6N2 1.4 16v, told them bout my wheels and coilies and they all gd about it..

adrian flux wont insure under 25's

I was 19 when i first got insured with them??

it deffo wont lemme get insurance from adrian flux :S might be a new thing they're doing?

also, I'm deffo after a 6n so sorry wont be getting a mk3. unless i really really cant find insurance on this.

I got my insurance last week from adrian flux. I'm 19.

i was quoted 1700 tpft as a named driver on quinn with all mods declared :(

is it cheper on average if you rign the insurers or to try online? I will try adrian flux again, but its definately telling me i cant get insured because I'm under 25. Myabe because its me on my dads policy?

We do insure young drivers we have some good rates for them the problem could be that you wanted to be a named driver and not the main driver.

We don't have any companies that will insure for that unless you are over 25.

If you were to insure the car in your name and have your dad as a named driver we could look at getting a quote for you.

yeah definitely give CIS a go, I'm with them too and they're prices aren't really that bad, a mate of mine had a honda civic group 10 insurance, struggled gettin that insured as a 2nd driver with so many different insurance companies and he was gettin ridiculous quotes...he tried CIS and managed to get a quote under a grand.
