I noticed my last thread got closed with no explanation why so lets try the democratic approach

I think it isn't needed the reason I come on here is talk about cars or car events/meets because this is a car forum.

If I want to talk about anything else I just go out with my mates or talk to them on Facebook simple.

Thats u thou, I can give u countless examples on here where an 'off-topic' section would serve a very useful purpose and eliminate all the crap that the other sections seem to gather

Fair enough there are a lot of threads which go way off topic including a lot of which me and a few of the Guildford lot start to get carried away with

But if there is an off topic section it will just get bombarded with jokes and piss taking which will take loads of sifting through to get to a thread which has any relevance or interesting content

Yeah but this forum already gets bombarded with loads of shit which is completely 'un-car' related so at least an off-topic section would keep it all in one place. Besides as several other people have already pointed out (moderator included) it would certainly help to improve the atmosphere on here somewhat

It just means more work for mods, looking at every single topic in there to make sure it isnt something that shouldn't be posted on CP.

some of the topics do go off the rails on here from time to time, but off topic is not the answer. the last time it just got full with reposts, arguments and people bitching about there misses fucking there mate... and at least 1 i'm pissed thread every night of the weekend.

a bit of off topic banter in a few threads is one thing, a full section dedicated to bullshit is another.

Yeah some banter is alright if the thread is actually about cars in the first place but I don't come on here to discuss my day or whatever i've been up to and to have a laugh thats what I go out for anyway this is the only place I can talk about cars because none of my mates understand my obsession with dubs

If the forum is set to autoprune after a set interval then it might be not too bad on resources

I don't get peoples arguments for it taking up more space and resources. Didn't CP supposedly move to a dedicated server not so long ago?

The correct way to go about this would've been to PM the person who locked it and asked for a reason.
