right my car seems to love distributers, since i've done my ABD conversiont at the start of june i'm now on my 4th, but i have been talking to my mate who has heard you can get electronic ignition kits for older cars, has anyone else heard of this and do they know where i can buy one?

What type of cylinder head does it have? mech or hydro

It will already have electronic ignition. If it has a hall sender (3-pin plug) on the dizzy then it has electronic ignition. The old points distributors were phased out along with the mechanical heads around mid C reg

They dont just pack up,i wonder if there's anything wrong with the three you've just 'got through'. Mine has done nearly 100k on a 1.3 MH,a 1.6 AEE and a 1.4 ABD over 20 years without fault,and i can see no reason why the engine should have any bearing on the ignition anyway.

Having said that,its just started mis-advancing,confusingly only on two cylinders. I'm just gonna go.. over here..
