Astra VXR Nurburgring edition

Featured Replies

Spotted a new white astra VXR with a chequered patttern on it the other week. Noticed it had a 'ring' sticker on the b pillar, but thought this was an owner mod. Spoke to my bro whos a Vauxhall nut and he said they are limited edition VXR's with a higher performance spec.

Anyone know what the performance figures are like? I thought Clarkson said the standard version was too powerful for front wheel drive

Stock BHP, slightly tweaked exhaust, and thats it.

Stickers for 1k, fuck that.

Theirs one round my area looks pretty nice, would be smoother without the flag pattern on the bonnet though.

HaHa, I remember now him mentioning a sports catalytic converter.

Are the F1 edition renaults the same or do they get more horse power for the cash?

Na the F1 edition renaults are beefed up quite a bit if I remember right.

Power 230 bhp

Torque 310 Nm

0-60 mph 6.4 s

Seen one nipping about Aberdeen, the exhaust has a hefty note for sure.

i really like the f1 clios :p

they do a nurburgring corsa too

Looking at the VAG cars in that marketing bracket you have the new Golf GTI Pirelli edition and also this

Seat has more PS than the Golf, probably due to its Audi links. Golf is less barryfied though.

Borrring.

Now all the local 19 year old pretty boys can pretend to be racing drivers..

If they do one of the yellow Fiesta ST then they've gone too far..

indeed. they proper pop and cackle! 8-)

Astra VXR's are cool! Shame they're a bit too pricy for what they are! They do look good though 8-)

Vauxhall already have this in hand, but will they do HP and free insurance on one of these

White and black and a new exhaust for over a grand more, great.

VXR's, ST's.. i know they're fast etc but there's just nothing special about them, way to poser-ish.

I wouldn't say no

The F1 megane aint really that fast either, I was glued to one's bumper the other day :)

Still think they have come a long way mind since 5/6 years ago

VW need to start doing a few more exciting cars or they will go back to being boring.

The Nurburgring Edition also has leather Recaro's with the Nurburgring circuit outline embossed into them 8-)

Lightweight wheels too, and lots of carbon bits. I'd have one any day.

white's the in thing at the minute, it's due to get old VERY soon!

You're having a laugh? Nothing special? 6.5 seconds to 60 mph and over 150mph top speed plus you can fit all your shopping in and do the daily commute easily?! I struggle to think of VAG cars that equal these cars practicality and fun.

The real problem with the vxr's and ST's are the interior's build quality. Loose plastic everywhere where as in a VAG you'll get some sense of build quality. Plus a VAG car will hold it's value longer.

The nurburg edition of the VXR is a pretty cool car, the exhaust sounds intense shame it's just a astra under it all though.

Thats why i'd go for the K1 over the VXR, both being 240PS.

no better car on the market than this for your money imo. especially when in a few years youll get one for half the price. looks great in white. yellow fl R27 is the tits but you can upgrade any clio sport to its spec for around 1500 which includes suspension upgrades. plus you don't HAVE to have the stickers.

hate vauxhalls of today..they never seem to have there own designs but rather pick bits and bobs from other makes and bodge together their own...or make them really chavvy.

I couldn't give a crap whether it's in fashion or not. Fashion is for posers
