matt black isn't rat.. its just matt black. Anyone thay sprays there car matt black and calls it rat needs a god slap.

x2, its just a paint finish. So the car is just as mint as if it was painted with normal shiney paint. I have seen some MINT matt black cars though mmmmmm

the guy with the mk3 rat on the page 1 owns a body shop and is absolutely amzing at custom body work and spray jobs, he is one of the best in our area if not the best you have to pay alot for his work though, its quite funny really considering his car is like that, but syaing that it think it looks pretty cool the pictures dont give it justice tbh

It's like when you'd get new trainers at school & you'd get skuffs-ies.. like "GET THE FUCK OFF MY BRAND NEW TRAINERS!!!" they'll look old after a few games of footy so I don't need some prick stepping on my feet.

Or "distressed denim" ripped up jeans. If I want to look like a homless then I'll live rent free in M&S's door way for a while.. not pay Diesel/Levi Straus £130 for the privellage.

Likewise cars don't need all this shit put on 'em. Drive it hard & it'll soon look 'well used' anyway.

I HATE new trainers, if they're clean they look shit. You should see my converse......

But you try and impress your peers dont you, i have crappy looking, used trainers and its the same with cars. I find the 'old skool'

and rat look cars much MUCH more interesting than spanking clean 'show' cars. But boo hoo theres loads and loads of people that

i like rat cars, they're much more individual than the "showier" cars , i think they show much more character than the other cars.

And also, alot of rat cars are done for a laugh, and that's what it's all about at the end of the day isnt it? having a laugh

Much prefer it on retro cars has to be done fairly good to look alright on a new skool car, You will always get people who don't or can't understand rat look and to alot of people and will make your car be represented as weird, where as with a mint car to show standard you'll generally get more notice and a decent image of yourself and the style you're projecting in the way you modify your car
