anouther thing that dose me is hoodride,yer av been ther done it with my bug as u can see in the pik.its a phase thats been and gone its died out now so y try to bring it back and especaly on water cooled dubs,it was an air coold thing eg slamed narowed bar from that og and PATINA not mat black wide rims and a water pumper.this is proper rat from 1957 not sanded back in 2007 or painted to look rat,so cum on give it a break and keep water cooled cars shiny or alast respectable.

I disagree. I've seen a few Mk1's that look really really good.

Ratting has been going on for years, cat really just stop at air-cooled, MK1's are now just as old as some air-cooled stuff a few years back. but i do think Mk1 is the limit atm, MK2 is pushing it a bit, and anything onwards is just silly.

i agree, i was just about to say that while "forced" rat on newer H20 stuff is crap looking, there is some water cooled stuff about that is old enough to have a natural patina and look good.
