Sweet car dude, i have a 80' mk1 with the same interior and 895cc's. Is that the GT engine? Did you change the gearbox? if so what did you replace it with? GT? Sorry for all the questions, but i keep gettin a need for a bit of speed!

Nice to see the chassis leg/bulkhead junction looking good and solid. What's the rest of the shell like - floorpans, inner/outer sills etc?

Getting the engine in is easy peasy, finding room for a charger and intercooler is another matter though! Prepare to become good friends with your angle grinder!

opps forgot about this thread, as for what type of charger its getting thats a secret, Yep it is a G40 engine and yep the chassis legs look solid but it will be getting stitch welded and extra bracing put in along with a subframe eventually As for the rest of the shell its all solid except for the front wings and two patches on the sills near the arches. And I'm looking to be running about 150-160 BHP as i want it to be reliable and to be honest its going to be quick enough with that much seeing as it weighs as much as an epmty tuna tuna tin :)

I trial fitted one of my ebay bargain wheels today :)

There only 6j wide but et13 and they fill the arches just about right.

Recieved this from germany yesterday :)

Just got all the info today on how to sort the wiring (cheers steve) and its a piece of cake to do (just a couple of wires to splice and extend for fuel pumps :)

You only need the small engine loom to get it up and running and there are 7 wires to connect.

These take the form of two 3 pin plugs and one ring terminal.

Connect the lone ring terminal with red wire direct to the battery positive terminal.

The 3 pin plug that has a red/yellow, red/black and yellow/white wire that was near the ECU on the Mk.3)

Red/yellow wire goes to the fuel pumps in the rear of the car.

Red/black wire goes to the starter motor solenoid spade terminal.

Yellow/white wire is for the diagnostic connection inside the car.

The 3 pin plug with the brown, green and black wires(was near the coil on the Mk.3)

Black wire connects to the black wire that used to connect to the + terminal of the coil on the Mk.1

The green wire connects to the red/black wire that used to connect to the - terminal of the Mk.1 coil

The brown wire connects directly to the battery earth terminal and must not be earthed through the bodywork

the car isnt looking good at the moment actually but my bedroom is getting hard to walk in with all the mk1 and g40 parts I'm gathering for it

Ps; I've heard goodthings about pwr chargecoolers, plus there design makes sense.

Get a turbo under there to scare away the motorbikes :D
