I'd look around, but no matter where you go, expect it to be more than your provisional cost. They see it as with a learner, they've got an experienced driver with them, where as someone just passed doesn't have much experience driving around by themselves.

Insurance is just a joke for younger drivers just now mate. Do the same quote tomorrow and it will be a totally different price, I'm sure they just make it all up in their heads.

The computer quote system uses a random number generator I'm sure!

this may sound funny..but it does sound about right lol,

£3000 on you are own name with full license is about right...i was getin the same results, had no choice but 2 go down as a 2nd driver!

thats probably the best thing 4 u 2 do aswell mate.

good luck with it, try CIS they're quite decent.

I'm with CIS and I'm a named driver with my dad. Good thing about it is that you get a named driver NCB, so in a years time you will have a years no-claims and you could get a cheaper quote on your own.

Only things are that you have to be 19 and over and also the named driver no claims is only valid with CIS.

^^^^^^^

same with norwich union, it works well aswell, my insurance is cheapy cheap now with them, or will be when i take the qoute they gave me in 2 weeks.

I'd advise against Norwich Union though from personal experience. Absolute rubbish if you do need to claim.

try quin hahah

CIS on my mums policy lol

CIS on my mums policy lol

lol how much u paying mate?

insurance goes down so much with a female on the policy!

i think best possible thing 2 do is 4 a person 2 get insured whilst their learning, at the same time they can earn ncb's!

a mate of mine did that, once he got his license he had 2 yrs ncb, so insurance wasnt too bad 4 him.

guess it varies from person to person, area and whatnot, but i was paying £960 on a provisional 1.6l polo mk4, passed, went up to £1200 for that year, 1 years ncb and I'm now paying £864 (quinn tpf&t)
