GT Engine, 56k

Featured Replies

GT Engine for sale.

Done just over 56k. Had new clutch, timing belt, water pump, sump gasket, air filter, oil filter, oil change and starter motor about 500 miles ago.

Pulls very well in every gear. Old woman owned GT before me put engine in car 500 miles ago and now the cars broken/ crashed.

Extremely rare to find an engine with this this low mileage.

All engine parts with it, loom, fuel pump also included.

NEW PRICE! £400 engine only £350 in car!

would you want to sell the dizzy and fuel pump??

  • Author

No, not really. Wanting to sell the whole engine.

I think you might struggle to get £425 for the engine mate. You can buy complete conversions for between £150-200. Good luck with the sale though.

But with this low mileage? Don't think so. DKnight is selling one with 100and some miles on it for £325.

Problem is mate, so many people are using the 1.4 bottom ends now people just want the injection system and head + cam. The parts that suffer less with mileage... the bottom ends are becoming less popular by the day. I sold one last week for £10

I'm surprised DKnight expects to get that much for a GT engine? Unless it comes with some spesh parts..

well it doesnt come with special parts, but it comes removed from the car which is a good few hours work, and all parts are ready to go, you paid £220 for one so the price difference isnt much at all!

I paid £200 for mine from Rae, and i only paid that because it was all in bits which meant i could pick it up on the way home from uni

And how many miles had that one done? Just for a price comparison.

About 110kish, but as i said the head was off so i could inspect the pistons and valves and there wasn't a scratch on them. Spent couple of quid on a new head gasket and all the other gaskets and seals ect when i went to uni and took some people out in it for a spirited run they were gob smacked it had over 100k on it when their corsa's and the life were falling apart at 50k

Bareing in mind this was coming on for a year ago now and GT conversion prices were higher then they seem to be now.

Yeah, ok. Sensible offers.

Hi have you got any more pics of the car please??

Thanks Dan

I take it that this car is a GT conversion, how can you verify that the engine has done 56k? Is that what the clocks read?

  • Author

I have full service history MOT's up until this one. So can verify mileage. And the clocks read it too+500.

Bump. Had loads intesrested but no follow ups. May split soon or ebay it.

in all fairness. that money is absolutely ridiculus. these engiens dont loosen up and make peak pwoer till what, 80k and over ? a 100k engines nothing anyway.

youd be better lowering the price and selling it whole to splitting it imho.

just an opinion obviously.
