wing dent

Featured Replies

hi, i took my car into my mates garage so he could service it on his lunch, as with it being low its hard to get to the sump plug and the splash guard is a gay.

we usually put it on the sill lift machine. which requires us to lift the car under the arches to get the lifters under.

so i go to the shop round the corner to get my oil filter, come back, and my mate has accidently pushed the front wing in, causing it to dent in two places.

there is no crease or anythin, and my mate even put his hand up between the arch lining and made one of the dents much better.

all the mechanics there said that "jiml fix it"(a dent repairer) will pull the dents out easy. but he charges about £30. my mates gonna do my service for free, and he felt dead bad.

all I'm thinkin is, how easy is it to do the dent yourself, cuz the wing comes off, and the dents arent that bad at all.

could do with some advice from someone whos had this sort of thing happen to them.

thanks

spilz

try pushing it out from the back if you can, best thing get a bag of building sand (cowboy i Know) place the dented part on the bag and try pushing it back and it might pop out and have no damage to the paintwork? worth a try if not then a gentle tap with a soft mallet may work as well

yhh same thing happened to me, went to my uncles garage to get my new cat fitted but cos it was too low to get on the ramp we both had to lift it up from the arches to get the arms under but somehow one of the wings got dented quite bad so i took the lining off and just popped it out from behind
