Hey just thought I'd check in and see if anyone is still about from a few years ago. Not sure who is still on the scene or not to be honest so if anyone is still around speak up!!

Been about three years since I was around with my Saloon G40 ( well since my polo got crashed into). Well I am happy to announce that I am back and have sold my MG zs.

Me and my Girlfriend have bought a MK5 golf GT 1.4 TSI 170 which is a hoot! the TSI engine is class and VW engineering at it's best kinda reminds me of a standard G40 with a little more poke but in a golf. Even better though I have a MK3 Golf VR6 currently with no floor pan in the back and a second subframe :-) anyone guess what my new project is!! I know I know it's been done before but I have not done it and so far it's only cost me £400. I will be stick a turbo on it as well so fingers crossed I should be back on the scene next year.

Yeah MG had to go as it was going to cost over 400 quid per year to tax and it drank so much petrol it wasn't funny. The golf is great though 170 BHP with upto 45MPG and a low tax band due to it being a 1.4!

How do! New project sounds suitably loony. Keep at it, need to be aiming to outstrip Mr Hunter's creations. :)

Hello long time no speak! yeah I'll get the pics up soon. recieved the car on Monday and the engine has been stripped back already and should be out this weekend. I cut the floor out last night ready for some fab work over the weekend for the rear subframe which I have just picked up for nothing! should be good. Looking for around 350-400 BHP which should be possible considering Mr Birch got 395BHP from a standard Vr block and a spacer in the head gasket!

Not allowed to touch the new Golf as it's under warrenty :-) shame cos it has so much potential.

Yep - it'll have been 8 years I've had it in October. Think you know it's turbo'd now, it's also running an Emerald ECU too.

Just need to get around to fitting the LSD I've had in a cupboard for ages, and get some nitrous and drag slicks to play with Yoof's GT/T40 on the strip - he put in a 13.1s @ 108mph earlier this year. Got a tweaked Saab 9000 (270bhp & 315lb/ft) as a daily, but the Polo's quicker!

What turbo you using on the VR?

Cool glad to hear you still have it! yeah I saw the turbo just after you fitted it. Not see yoof's car though!

VR will probably get a T3/4 to start with they don't need much boost to get power from them so will see how it goes. Just finished cutting the floor out yesterday and starting to fabricate the new mounts for the subframe, shouldn't be long before the engine is sitting in the back.
