Its in standard sleeper form at the moment got quite a few plans for it but at the moment just enjoying driving it.

Its not been on a rolling road yet but at this minute i should expect it to be in the high 90's. Once i have the Golf afm, a g40 exhaust on and my GT cam it should be 100bhp +

I'll be aiming for 110bhp + soon.

Its a beast at the moment and its got so much more to give, it doesnt drive like a GT as the peak power drops off around 6k but it suits my driving style and the noise it makes as well need to find me a tunnel very soon. Even at idle it has a deep tone and just gives a very different feeling to a GT..

For some reason i'm feeling black ra's i dont know why because i usually hate black wheels on black cars. Least i wouldn't have to clean them as often :)

The engine is from a skoda, its also seen in mk4 polo's, its a 1.6 AEE but I'm using GT management with bigger injecters. The torque is ace, love it. Build thread

Its not one of the easiest conversions to do but well worth it.

Everything is fine matey, theres a few that that need tweaking but nothing major I'm certainly impressed with it :-)

Since its been on the road i havn't changed anything i have just clocked 50 miles with no issues

Yeah its a great feeling just driving it, i do need a rest from messing with it, the last 2 weeks saw me putting 14 hour shifts in most days.. i nearly went insane but now its giving some back and being nice to me. :biggrin:

Already had a few funny looks mainly from saab owners when i shoot off and they look very confused..

It might be getting a GT box later on, it will make it an animal!!!!

Yeah, you can't beat a sleeper thats for sure!

Personally, I think the GT box with its short final drive ratio might not get the best from your 1.6 conversion. As you have already said, it doesn't drive like a GT at all. A lot of this will be down to the torquey longer stroke 1.6 engine. You may end up with lots of wheelspin in first and second gear due to the torque/gearing ratio.

Also with me using the mk3 flywheel which is seriously lighter then the skoda one, the revs come up very quick. A GT box would make this worse and wheel spinning in 1,2,3 would be definete. It can spin 1 and 2 easily anyway...

I'm not sure but imo a GT box which isnt half healthy, this engine will kill it. So thats another problem with adding a GT box, it needs to be a bloody good one as it would get hammered.

must be mental fun, i get a laugh from my standard one in my mk4, my old man drove it yesterday and was really suprised how nippy they are and how it'll pull in the high gears

I'm not sure how the AEE ones come out but generally theres just a circlip type thing and they pull out.

what about the management side of things? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to all this :/ ecu etc?

I'm using everything from a mk3 GT, ecu, wiring, inlet, throttle body ect its pretty much just the engine and few bits that are from a mk4.
