Alrite guys, jus wonderin if anyone has had the same problems as me. I have put some coilovers on my car and lowered by 95 front and back. I have noticed that when i steer there is clunking. I didnt know weather this is because the camber is out, causeing somthing to rub. Anyway be really good if anyone had the same problem, and could tell me how to fix it, cheers

I had this on my old Polo, I changed the top mounts and it was fine after that, Euro Car Parts do them for like £20.00 i think.

have you fitted the top mounts from your old suspension?

Nah i ave put top mounts on lol, and it is sat tight. They arent movin, i think its somthing to do with the the spring turning, as i put the front up and steered and it was coming from the spring.

This is hard to explain in text but imagine you are sittin parked with the wheels straight ahead. Then you start to steer to the right/left and its quiet, then there is a clunk, then you keep steering to full lock. If its like that then your strut bearing is probly gone, the clunk is the bearing sticking then jumping on round instead of rolling round smoothly. Mine do it. Aint got it fixed yet as it doesnt really do any harm but i will fix it soon probly. This can happen quite often on lowered cars, you can get uprated bearings that can take it better.

If however they are clunking a lot when you are driving along, its probly just the coilovers being noisy. Mine were noisy, i think it was the spacer between the two springs rattling as since i took my helper springs out and removed the spacer it has got a lot quieter.

its does it on mine fitted coillies but ifyou use standard top caps intead of the ones with the coillies it should be fine just not got round to doing it yet

did it on mine when I was wound all the way down, raised it back up again now and it's fine so I reckon it might have been the track rod ends.
