I said I wouldn't......

Featured Replies

Ok peeps, I know I said I wouldn't spend another penny on the mini dub after the front and backs got scratches, filler falling out etc BUT she kept staring at me with a cute and innocent lil look

Well here she is after a bit of bodywork. Looks good but not happy enough with the back. You can clearly see where the backs been smoothed leaving an outline against the boot. Furthermore, the plate lights been stuck in meaning i'll end up cracking paint or bodywork when I need to replace the bulb. Anywho, I can't really complain with the money I spent. Still needs buffing up so its going back into the garage next week.

Didn't want to take pics till it got buffed up but I couldn't wait. Heres a few snaps I took with a dodgy camera on this crap afternoon whilst the cars still dirty.

All the filler was taken out and done again properly on the front bumper. The guy didn't mind spraying the splitter either for free. Looks good so I won't be getting a gti splitter anymore.

Locks been left and the plate hasn't been positioned on the bumper yet. You can clearly see the hairline around the plate recess area, which is poop :x

Here's a pic of the roof done in mercedes black. The whole car has been turning heads in the one day i've been driving around since I had it back. miss it too after a week of driving a mid-engined RWD car for a whole week 8) (Toyota Previa: Wasn't expecting that was you! )

Opinions?

Tell me bout it :( It doesn't look as bad in reality. Might get that done again or totally smoothed off then run LED screws for the plate. I did only pay the guy £250 for all the work on the bumper, splitter, boot, rear bumper and the roof.

where did u get the lights?

Looks good will look better when it's back out the bodyshop  oh, what kind of plates you got are they the 3d text style ones?

Car looks good bro but i think a gti splitter would look better and u seriously need some 45's and need to drop the car some more.... 8-)

car looks very neat... looks dun ok... only thing id say it u shuda put a popper on the boot & smoothed the handle off!! nice look tho... like the vw in the rear lights..nice touch

They're the first FK angels they did from ebay. Not worth much now but I got them ages ago for £280 :(

Hopefully it does lol. The plates are dubmeisters legal pressed plates. They look a treat too.

lol the car is on 45's now, which look even worse cos you can see the horendous arch gap you couldn't before with the 50's! Still can't drop it, hit the sump so hard yesterday, my seat jumped up. Its even causing all the bolts to loosen up on the runners! Even Tony from conventry said I need to go lower, he'l even convoy down here to force me into it if he has to!

I did originally want to do that and make a nice plate recess in the bumper but I didn't want to chance the popper not working and having problems with it, which'll ruin the chances of MOT which'll annoy me. So pretty much kept things I have to including the VW logo to keep reflectors legal.

Those are the biggest 45's ever lol.. You shouldve got falkens, they're a bit skinnier and sit that bit better!! Car looks good though... but i still dont understand how you're smacking your sump everywhere... I'm lower than that and survive (in you are ends too) lol...

could just be filler sinking a wee bit on the tailgate, happened on my old car when i had the bonnet badge removed and holes smoothed over, just wet and dry it then compound and itll be grand

nice car by the way

you sooo should've brought the bootlid i sold a few weeks/months ago, kappils old one with plate and badge removed but handle still there, the smoothing work was amazing and i let it go for £40! all you'da had to do was get it resprayed :(

poppers are quite good dude, and in case it does pack up an the boot doesnt open it isnt an MOT fail lol, easy enough to open from the inside anyway, if you get the boot redone i think you should just go for it

...not to mention the plastic cover for the fuel tank being scraped everywhere. If you did every journey around most of the street in my ends you'd certainly feel it. I'd love to get a ride in yours around my ends and see for myself!

Doubt i'd be spending anytime soon as i've just spent cash I said I wouldn't lol. Hardly on here or trolling fleebay for things so never spotted the bumper.
