bit of a mad issue! (sorry about Essay)

anyway I took my car for a full service yesterday and after doing the service they told me that the inside of my tyres were seriously worn, like all the way to the metal in some places!! He also said that my tracking was majorly out and was at +4 (whatever that means)

so anyway he adjusted my tracking, told me to get some tyres, come back and ill adust your tracking properly...

SO... off to get some tyres after he temp adjusted ma tracking and I notice a few things:

1) steering heavier - expected as more tyre on road (more friction)

2) steering off! - when my steering wheel is straight it goes slightly to the right

3) sterring seems weaker - much slower when wheel returning straight, I have to manually spin wheel round at full lock as it wont budge atall!

NEXT... I ignored it as i put it down to my dodgy temp tracking, got some new tyres went to get my tracking done properly and found...

1) ooOoO smooth rode (nice avon tyres) :)

2) problems still persisted as before!

THE STRANGE THING IS...

everything was just fine before I took my car in yesterday! steering was straight and easily went back straight after turning.

WTF is going on!!!!!

can anyone help :(

Take it back and tell them it's not right and that you don't want your car back until it is right. With no cost to you obviously.

Some places are lazy. You want the steering rack centred first. This will almost certainly be with the steering wheel straight,as its an airbag wheel.

Then you want both front wheels adjusted to their correct position.

The lazy will turn the wheel until one wheel is straight,then adjust the other. This isnt good enough.

cheers for advice guys. I'm going down there 1st thing tomorrow. I've just spent the best part of £200 with them for a service and other stuff! I want my moneys worth!
