Good points:

Starts and runs very well

Econimical - 40+ MPG

Low insurance - £100 Fully comp on classic car cover

Very Low mileage for age - 21k miles

Fitted center consol and front wheel arch spats

Loads of spare parts:

- Replacement tailgate (see bad points)

- New rear springs and shocks

- New fuel tank

- New Paddy Hopkirk roof rack

- Front disks / break pads / rear drums / slave cylinders / rear shoes

- Door cards / front grill (twin head lights) / complete exhaust from manifold back

- Pair of bumpers

- Pair of rear light clusters

- Basicaly striped a Polo GL for all reusable bits to keep the bread van on the road !!

Bad points:

RUST!!!

- Tailgate has a bad rust spot under the spoiler which will need some TCL. I have a replacement tailgate which could be fitted in replacement

- Driverside has had a few light scraps which have been 'painted' over in what looks like hammer right. Rust is coming thru agin, but a guess another rub down and paint will put that to rest for another couple of years

- Ever though they passed, I would look to replace the tyres asap. Loads of tread, side walls are cracked etc. The spare is still original and unused!

- Radio has been removed but I have an upgrade CD player available to plug in - Note: The radio kills the battery overnight even when turned off !!!

History:

Car was owned by 2 old boys locally and had covered 17k miles when I picked her up 2 years ago.

Old MOTs indicted she had only covered 100miles a year and the oil was still gold when I check the dip stick.

I've used her as a station car and averaged 5 miles a day with an occational long run to clear out the cog webs.

Was intending to run the car and teach the kids how to drive in it - but got the itch for something newer. Need to figure if I can scratch that itch!
