About to change the oil in my 1.4 16v (6n2) polo just wondering whats the best stuff i should buy. The cars done 54k and i was previously using castrol edge 5w -30w it ran fine but its too expensive for me to afford now, (50 quid + oil filter) thinking of putting a thicker oil in as its getting more miles, What would you guys recommend?

Just got to VW dealership and get what they use, the Synta stuff. It works fine.

If you want to something a bit cheaper then the edge 5w-30 then go for a 10w-40 semi, with regular changes.
