In theory, yes it does have to be declared. Anything that didn't come as standard or dealer extra should be declared, but as mentioned above, you probably dont have anything to worry about!!!

That's exactly what i was thinking tbh. They didn't come with the car, so they're technically a mod, but not really noticeable.

On that note though, you get some of those wheels that say "Sport" in the centre on a lot of Polo's (or at least i see a lot around here with them). This car didn't come with them, so on the note we've just mentioned, could they then be put on her car without a problem? Or do they only come with a specific type of MK4 Polo?

back on topic, I declared my full set of 16v lights via the online service with my insurer, maybe it's a bit pedantic but it took all of 2 seconds and its one less thing they could possibly use to wriggle out of paying up

We're through the admiral multi car. Don't find their service too helpful tbh. I thought it could be done online, until it gave me a number to call. So i did that & when i signed up i got a nice English person & i'm thinking i'm onto a winner here as they were decent enough & was thinking thank fook it's not a foreigner.

Once you're signed up though & you need to call again to change anything such as your car for e.g. then THAT'S when they hit you with the foreigners. Might be going with AA next time (January) round
