i do think sometimes how other peoples brains work, not that its a bad thing, we are all different, but I'm just a bit astonished that people can be so crazy?

(take note no mention of how long item will take to post etc)

"no probs dude, sounds good enough to me. How much do you want for it posted?"

PM Number 3: Tuesday 19th August 2008 7:44pm

"just sent the cash over mate, let me know when you post!"

So thats tuesday evening, i didnt make it to post office wednesday, and i post it Thursday, thats ONE day gone...

Admitantly i did not message him as he asked to tell him the item was posted, i have alot of parts to send and it would be crazy work to do that, so i didnt send a PM

PM Number 4: Friday 22nd August 2008 - 6:40pm

"You posted the cam yet mate? was hopin to have it in this weekend."

Now it isnt rocket science, but you have pmd me at 6:40pm on a friday evening telling me you hoped for this item for the weekend, that is physically impossible?

So as i have posted the item, there isnt much that can be said, so i dont reply, expecting it to be delivered hopefully Tuesday after the bank holiday

"Hey, have you posted this yet mate? no offence but it shouldn't take nearly a week to walk to the post office"

I mean come on? firstly you have sent me 2 pms both in a time period when the postal service isnt in service!!! And how has ONE DAY become "nearly a week"?

And that is that really.

Its not so much a rant, just a general shock at how some people can be?

No doubt his item will be received tomorrow and all will be fine, but again, royal mail can take a fair while so does that leave me open for more slating?

I took about a week to post something for someone on ebay, due to work and being busy

Proberly thinks your guna do him over on the money lol sure all wil be fine when recieved 2morrow

if anyone moans at me about postage times on ebay they can fuck right off I'm not a business and it takes me a couple days to get round to it which i dont think is unreasonable

You didnt keep him up to date,just left him for six days not knowing if you'd even posted it or not,after he's sent a payment in faith - and all he asked was that you tell him when you'd posted it.

How hard is it to send someone a message? Despite reading your side of the story,it appears you showed complete disregard for him,and its your bad.

in fairness Dan the problem is you not telling the guy what's happening. People don't mind waiting for stuff as long as they are kept informed of what is happening. You should have replied to at least one of his PMs. I think I'd have been reacting in exactly the same way (although I'd have prob given it a bit more time initially and not just assumed it'd have arrived for the weekend). The time is not the issue, the lack of communication is!

it takes very little effort just to PM the guy and let him know what's happening. I always keep the person i'm dealing with in the loop, that way you don't get any problems.

I think the main problem is that the guy's sent you his hard earned cash in faith that you'll send the item. By not keeping him in the picture, he's gotten a little bit concerned. That's all, as long as he knows when it'll be there, he'll probably be fine.

You asked the admin team a question by PM, and asked for us to reply ASAP, I spent a bit of time looking into your query. found the information you assked for, and tried to send you a PM explaining and sending you the information you requestted, but got the following message:

If you still want your question answerring, could you give us some way of sending you the answer?

yeah fair enough i can see what your saying, but again, i send out loads of items and sending an email to say i have sent it i personally dont think is needed, just my personal views really, the factor in this is the time, theres only been one day in it.

well I reckon you need to reply to people when they specifically pm you to ask if it's been sent yet. I mean you read the PMs but ignored them, it'd have taken a couple of seconds to hit reply and type "sent yesterday" and then click send. Just so he knows something at least is going on.

tbh I think some people expect you to run to the post office the second they pay so the item will be sat on the doorstep the next morning. This isn't possible by a vast number of us on here due to other commitments.

If I buy something, I usually wait a week before enquiring to the seller or if the item is expensive, collect it in person.
