Take it to a scrappy yourself and weigh it in. Open up the head and fill it with cement 1st tho! :paranoid: :paranoid:

if they are good parts id try ebay first tbh

It'll barely weigh up,they'll have a set price for scrap engines. Like a tenner.

I drove an immaculate, totally original Rover 416 GTi twin cam 16v with full leather interior to mine recently. Drove lovely. It really was mint. They crushed it,wrote it off,and gave me a ton,on the principle that it was 1100kgs of scrap.

The plate was worth more than that, but they're breakers, that's what they do.

What was the point in that?

Surely someone would have paid more than £100 for it if it was a mint GTI with leather...

Ah but Kam, you have missed the most important part of what Mikey was saying, it was a Rover, therefore no-one would've wanted it!

My dad would have had the seats

I thought about putting the seats in the Polo, they were lovely. But heavy.

I also thought about banding some steels, slamming it,and fitting a 2.2 Honda V-tec. It was a nice little limo, original stereo,i was the third owner.

Here's the pic of it moments before death..

which yard in MK do you use?

That's Bleak Hall - one long straight road, its surely the most aptly named commercial estate in the world.

Nice enough people, but not good for old VW parts as they dont keep pre-94 Polos anymore, though i have pleaded..

There's a mint 74k mile MK2 Golf GTi in there at the moment though, somewhat unusually.
