I dont remember seeing them about much,though i do remember plenty of plastic bumper versions in the 80s.

That's ugly at the back,but awe-inspiring otherwise.

Shame its not the estate version..

I don't think i've ever seen a one in the flesh tbh. In fact, Mk2 Passats have just about dissapeared too....is the Passat the most unloved VW in the uk? Must be rarer than Mk1 Polos too.

Yeah,I've seen a handful of three doors in pics,including one on ATS classics with stickers in rear windows and yellow spotlamp. They aint pretty.

Not seen one in the flesh for years. But I've missed every show this year,even the monthly VAG Elites at Ace cafe.

It has been away a while, due to killing the engine on the way back from Ultimate dubs a year or so ago

What a lovely original example that is. They must be extremely rare now, I can't seem to remember seeing many about when I was younger either.

Why is it VW fitted such a stupidly small engine in such a big heavy car though? It must be painfully slow.

Yeah,very short stroke tall-block - bet it revs like a screamer.

I doubt it'd be a monumental job to smuggle a 1.8 8v GTi lump in there whilst keeping the standard look.

It may be a Passat,but i doubt its as heavy as the latest 1.4i Polo.

The seller's already sent it there - he has original steelies but has slammed it on 'lites.
