well you are insurance is void if u have no mot, and the cops will prob take you are car.

i would get it mot'd if i were u mate.

fined

get it sorted buffoon

You sir are a tool, if your MOT expired then why haven't you arrange to have it re tested? And why in gods name are you driving it about?

Its Idiots like you that shouldn't be on the road.

My Mot expired on the 28th of this month and the earliest date i could get into the garage was Tuesday morning so my cars sitting on the driveway until then.

Get it done asap and don't drive it till then, the only time you are able to drive it is when your on your way to get it tested and you have proof of that.

I think gang rape is the price you pay for no MOT.

That's what i've heard too, and there are no females involved either.

Get it done ASAP and for god sake dont drive it. No MOT = Voided Insurance and the police will throw the book at you and then take the car, total cost minimal is about £200 (recovery fees + fines) plus some points (6).

My MOT was due on the 29th of this month, i got it done 2wks ago. you can present the car for testing a month in advance without losing the original date.

When it happened to me (for being a dumbass and not realising it was a replacement ticket that finished 6 months after it was issued), I didn't find out I'd got no test til I produced, got court summons, plead guilty by post, cost me about £120, plus the cost of getting the MOT I should have had in the first place.

Now computerised MOT testing's come in they know you haven't got a test as soon as they run your numberplate.

Having a Mk5 Polo there is less chance any of the niggly things have worn on you car, just show it in a garage and get an MOT, is it really that hard?

no mot = no insurance = your fooked

mate got pulled for no MOT annd nout happen just told him to get it sorted quick.

ma lock is gone on the drivers door, so i can only open it from the inside, need to change the barrel which costs £100 from vw, and then fitting ontop, also need to book that in as well to vw, MOT wont pass me on the door not opening from the outside. but will get it done as its booked in. Any suggestions getting the MOT done? or is a legal requirement on having the locks work properly?

The only thing the police ever do is either say "GET IT DONE", or they give you a two week ticket and a fine

Listen folks......Yes its wrong not to have valid MOT however the police will NOT prosecute for this offence, they will however issue you will a VDRS (vehicle defect rectification scheme) ticket. This allows you 2 weeks to get your car MOT'd & if you do it within 14 days then its end of story..........its just like a HORT1 ticket but for MOT.

I work for cops in northumbria.

There is NO FINE as long as you get it done within 14 days & your insurance is NOT invalid.

man i just lol'd at all u sayin no mot = no insurance seriouly stop posting things u heard and dont actually know.

yeah, 2 week producer is more likely. sort it out tho kiddo, co insurance company would wriggle out of a payment due to lack of MOT...

I had an accident years ago when I didn't have a MOT. Got told I'd be summonsed to court but a week later I received a letter saying I was only receiving a caution as I had a otherwise clean license. I believe I was a lucky got although my car was a write off!

Not quite 100% accurate. The VDRS is down to the discretion of the officer involved and is given where there is a vehicle fault but if there is a vehicle fault AND no MOT then there is also no insurance and you'll be reported, get 6 points, a fine, and also quite possibly have your car impounded. Cars are only kept for 14 days (generally) and then they're auctioned or sold for scrap. Moral of the story = don't drive without an MOT!
