I'm desperate for a job to keep me going and saw that my 2nd local Halfords has a vacancy for an 'In Car Technology Specialist'.....now that seems like sound systems to me , does anyone know?

tbh if you went in and asked about any vacencies they would be able to help. if you tell them you have intrest/knowledge in cars.

used to work in swansea one for 4 years - if you are desperate do it - yeah sat navs stereos subs etc etc

went into there afew weeks back afer some 5mm spacers, they just looked at me blankly and said theyd have to order some in

today was my last day, i worked on cycles and the workload compared to ripspeed and parts was ridiculous. keeps getting busier and staff get cut? wtf.

Yeah - i'm the In Car Technology "Specialist" in the Stirling branch. You need to know how to rewire a car to accept an Iso connector (earth, live, switched live, speakers x4) wire up a sub and amp, what Sat Nav does what - which are crap. Fit hands free kits with bluetooth without fucking up the customers cars. Thats about it! I get good money for it!

If you know your stuff then you'll get some respect. But dont expect to get any from the part timers they are all usually students who dont know shit! My crew is sound - 4 guys and we all know our stuff!

Chill Winston. I didnt say everyone did I. for instance the old manager of my local had a mk1 20vt golf and someone else has a mk3 polo GT with wellers and on a 80mm drop.

Just a general observation I've made at many halfords thats all.

in my halfords there was my GT...mk2 golf gti, vento vr6. fiesta rs turbo. mg zr with 220 turbo engine init. hmm yeah chavtastic tbh... lol

The manager at my Halfords owns a Seat Cordoba GTI, not exactly chavy. Also got 3 stunning girls working there too, so its not that bad a place to shop :)
