Probably a simple answer but how do I remove the gear knob?

Also, ages ago I remember a topic posted on here about shortening the gear stick so it sits lower, is it still about?

lift the gaiter up and you will see a small clip at the bottom of the gear knob to remove. If you cant do this upward force and twisting will get it off.

The gear stick adjustment is easy. once the gaiter is removed you will see the metal rod goes into a plastic moulding fastened by an allen bolt. remove this and you can cut it down with a hack saw.

All I see is a gold clamp, with no way to get it off. Is that what pushes down and off? Time to get the hammer is fooking tough.

theres an open bit in the gold ring ( a loop kinda bit) spread that out with a flat screwdriver and pull the knob up dotn twist just lift

yeh just loosen the gold clamp by twisting it with a pair of pliers - mine came off fine. Does anyone know how to swap the handbrake handle over?!
